After its record-breaking opening, Venom: Let There Be Carnage scored a further $6.18 million at the North American box office yesterday. As a result, the movie has smashed past the $100 million mark after just five days, tying Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for the pandemic era record.

With a current haul of $102.1 million, the Sony Pictures sequel looks set to earn $110 million over its first seven days of release. By the end of its second weekend, Venom: Let There Be Carnage should have earned around $145 million; as you might expect, No Time to Die is expected to steal the #1 spot.

The Venom sequel's CinemaScore has also been revealed:

2018's Venom also received a B+, while this score puts the movie on the same level as Thor, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Blade II, and Spider-Man 3. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has an 85% approval score from fans, and a 6.6/10 from users over on IMDb.

Great news for theaters

@Godzilla2000Zer - Yep, great that a movie this bad still drew this many people in. Movie is genuinely garbage.

@Shivermetimbers - how was the CGI? Was woody harrelson any good?

@CAPTAINPINKEYE - CGI seemed fine. We thought Carnage was pretty awesome. He was bigger than I expected him to be though. I was pretty disappointed with Woody. He didn't give the crazy menacing performance I would have hoped for. I thought his performance seemed forced and a bit corny (that could describe the whole movie though).

@Shivermetimbers - Well if it makes you feel better I'm speaking more about the theatrical industry rather than a movie I honestly could care less about

@Godzilla2000Zer - Didnt mean for that to "sound" sarcastic or anything, but I can see how it might have come across. What I was trying to say is that it is great for the theaters to do so well, even when the movie is crap. Gives hope for some truly great blockbusters to really do well.

@Shivermetimbers - Definitely agreed I was just making my views clear so we're in complete agreement😃
I'm dying to see Dune even though it will most likely flop.

If you had shown me both films without telling me which is which, I wouldn't have noticed either way. Serkis elevated it, along with the cast, but it's still a turd in the wind.

I don’t understand what’s the point of praising superhero movies like The Dark Knight, The Suicide Squad, or even the MCU is we’re going to give praise and money to piece of trash movies like this.

When the original Iron Man movie came out it wasn’t JUST the after credits scene why it was successful, it was a legitimately good movie and it jump started the golden age of the superhero genre of film. Now we’ve reached a point where all you have to do is flash familiar imagery and put enough budget into your action scenes and boom! Automatic success and thousands of fans defending your garbage.

@BroskiTroski - Earlier I said Venom fans are starting to become like a certain loud fanbase who angrily tweet at a certain company to restore a certain universe. Reason why? most of em are mainly anti MCU( which is funny considering the circumstances) and they defend big pieces of dog shit like this endlessly.
