Warner Bros. Turn To TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Scribe For TOMB RAIDER Reboot
Just like the video games series itself, the Tomb Raider property is being rebooted and it has now found a home in the form of Warner Bros. and the writer of G.I. Joe 3. Read on for details...
Deadline reports that Evan Daugherty has been chosen to write Tomb Raider, the upcoming reboot being developed by MGM and producer Graham King. Joining them though is Warner Bros., and they will distribute the film (which doesn't have a release date as of right now as it's obviously still in the very early stages of development). Daugherty has a varied and lengthy list of past projects, including Divergent, the upcoming G.I. Joe 3, Snow White and the Huntsman, and last year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Tomb Raider movies which starred Angelina Jolie grossed over $400 million worldwide combined, and with moviegoers demanding more strong female characters, this property should now find a lot of success. It's mentioned that the reboot is being put on the fast track and that it will feature a much younger Lara Croft on her first adventure.
