Wonder Woman 1984's opening scene has now been officially released online, and it's one of many incredibly well executed set pieces in the DC Comics sequel.

The sequence flashes back to the younger Diana (Lilly Aspell) on Temyscira as she prepares to compete against a group of fellow Amazons in a very physically demanding race, with her mother Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) and mentor Antiope (Robin Wright) watching on. How will Diana fare against her more experienced sisters?

The scene actually cuts to Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) charging up the street in the present day before the contest can really get underway, but you'll get to see how it plays out for yourselves very soon!

Check out the clip below along with a new behind-the-scenes featurette, and let us know what you think.

Wonder Woman 1984 hits cinemas in the UK and Ireland tomorrow, before releasing in theatres and on HBO Max simultaneously in the US on December 25. You can check out Josh's review here, and mine will be online shortly (spoiler: I also liked it quite a bit).
