Forbes now hails Patty Jenkins' first solo outing for Gal Gadot's Amazon Princess as the highest-grossing superhero origin movie of all time.

Wonder Woman has officially lassoed a very impressive $821.74 million worldwide, just beating Sam Raimi's Spider-Man which took in $821.7 million back in 2002. This is obviously great news for Warner Bros.' DC Films Universe, which will look to continue this level of success with Justice League later this month.

Patty Jenkins will return to helm the untitled sequel to Wonder Woman, which is set to hit theatres in 2019.
