THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Post Credits Scene Is A Clip From X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Wait, what? So this is certainly a surprise! Opening today in the UK and other markets, the post credits scene for Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been confirmed as being a clip from Fox's X-Men Days of Future Past?!

This is surprising.

With the recent Marvel films, post-credit scenes have become pretty much expected and after 2012's Amazing Spider-Man also featured it's own post-credit scene, it should come as no surprise to find out the same has been planned for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

But, recently confirmed by Sony, a clip from the upcoming Days of Future Past, will instead be shown after the credits of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The scenes shown, will feature Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Toad (Evan Jonigkeit) and Havok (Lucas Till) taking on William Stryker (Josh Helman).

What's the reason for this happening? Unknown at the moment, but could this be the beginning of some form of collaboration between the usually competing Sony and Fox? This has not been the first attempt to link Marvel franchises together (some will remember Oscorp Tower almost appearing in The Avengers) but is this yet another (unlikely but possible) attempt to create a cohesive Marvel Universe? Or is it purely a strange - and frankly confusing for audiences at least - marketing move?
