Hot on the heels of their New Mutants story, The Hollywood Reporter has now learned that Evan Peters will reprise his fan-favorite role as Quicksilver in the highly anticipated X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which is set to kick off production in Montréal sometime this week.
With Peters' inclusion, it appears as though 20th Century Fox has managed to pull off quite the coup, returning practically every member of their X-Men: Apocalypse cast, including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. It's a pretty remarkable accomplishment, especially considering bringing everyone back almost didn't seem possible at this time last year when the three-film contracts of their First Class cast expired.
Additionally, Canadian actor Lamar Johnson has joined the ensemble cast in a mysterious role. He currently stars on the BAFTA award-winning Canadian series The Next Step. He's also set to appear in the upcoming Daniel Craig/Halle Berry thriller Kings.
Ace producer Simon Kinberg will make his directorial debut with the long-running franchise's thirteenth installment (seventh in the main storyline), utilizing a script he penned.
So, what do you guys think? Who do you think Johnson is playing? Sound off with your thoughts below!
