20th Century Fox is in full-blown marketing mode for Dark Phoenix, releasing another new television spot for what will be the studio's final X-Men film. It certainly seems like they are going out with a bang as the X-Men will face their greatest battle yet in a showdown with one of their own — Jean Grey, as she has now evolved into the iconic Dark Phoenix.

There's not a whole lot of new footage shown in the spot, but it effectively highlights just how powerful Jean Grey will be. Like the brief teasers that have come before, we get a glimpse of the devastating destruction that Jean Grey is capable of unleashing as Dark Phoenix.

This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all.  Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet.  The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we've come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet -- one of their own.

Dark Phoenix is written and directed by Simon Kinberg. It stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.

Dark Phoenix rises in theaters on June 7. It will be the final X-Men movie created by 20th Century Fox as Disney now owns the movie rights for the beloved Marvel characters.

Greatest battle yet? You mean only we’ll finally get a worthwhile battle in an X-Men movie? Closest thing we’ve gotten to a decent battle was the very brief dystopian future stuff in Days of Future Past. The X-Men actually working as a team and fighting together? What a concept.

Yeah and "The Last Stand" was suppossed to be the final battle. I mean it was called the Last Stand. lol

Super obvious they retroactively branded this as "the final battle" after the Disney acquisition was secure. None of the early trailers showcased anything "final" or conclusive about this film.

Of course they're gonna sell it that way. Doesn't mean it's gonna be good.

The greatest threat the X-Men have faced yet is Fox, not Dark Phoenix.

I will say the action at least looks well shot and decent overall. It still doesn't look spectacular, but maybe it will be.

Still, I just don't care about these characters. Not a single one. I've emotionally checked out of this franchise.

The Last foX-Men.. The Last Stand Redux..

I watched Apocalypse again the other day.. Wow is that one bad.. Especially the titlar villain. Nothing like seeing a Thanos level villain done in the cheesy rubber suit motif..

Phoniex is supposed to be one of the most powerful beings in the whole Marvel universe. Yet I suspect in the last movie we'll get more of the that cheesy and underwhelming approach..
