After just under two decades and twelve blockbuster films, X-Men: Dark Phoenix brought Fox's beloved X-Men film series to a close, and now fans everywhere can pick up the Simon Kinberg-direced superhero adventure on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD to finally complete their X-collection.

While reviews were less-than-stellar, the movie, which was the first X-film to be released post-merger, was received relatively well by audiences and ultimately grossed over $252.4 million worldwide ($65.8M domestic; $186.5M foreign) - although considering its estimated $200 million production budget, it's very likely Disney will take a pretty big loss on the final entry in Fox's X-Men franchise.

The home video release contains a number of never-before-seen deleted scenes, a five-part making of documentary, scene breakdowns, an audio commentary from the director and producer and much, much more!

I had no desire to support the theatrical run of this movie, but I feel like I should finish the FoX-Men franchise. If nothing else, it will set a low bar for the MCU to inevitably hurdle.

I have listened to selections from the score though. it's pretty dang good!

@TheRose - the score is great, I just wish the movie around it had been as good. My only real positives about the movie were Fassbender and Macavoy were good, Sophie Turner has a pretty good performance and I wish they had let her go bigger with it though, and the aliens were kind of cool in an X-files sort of way. Everything else is kinda boring except for the action sequence at the end on the train and some of the Genosha stuff. They don’t give Cyclops anything to do also.

@TheRose - Also there’s a mutant with the power to use his cornrows as weapons which was stupid yet also funny.

Watched it on a plane and that was enough. Awful movie, awful script, a sad waste of talent.

And [frick] that person who thought including a mutant whose power is using their cornrows as weapons would be neat. All of the characters you could choose from 50 years of mythology and you give us that. Insulting.

I did not see this in theatres, but the friends I have that did see it said it was not a bad movie. It was a boring movie, and I understand their disappointment to be that you don't expect that from an X-Men film. Which made it worse than if it were truly a poorly-made picture.

I think the movie's biggest flaw was that it was so boring. I actually did enjoy the action in the train sequence finale...if I could accept the fact that the X-Men are now all murderers. Including Kurt/Nightcrawler, which is a complete misunderstanding of that character.
