POLL: Who Should Direct X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Now?

Earlier on we heard the news that Matthew Vaughn would be dropping out of the First Class sequel, and although Bryan Singer was named as a likely replacement, we all know how quickly these things can change. So click to cast your vote for a suitable director to take over..

Fans were left very disappointed by the announcement that Matthew Vaughn would no longer be directing the sequel to X-Men: First Class, as he is obviously seen as a big part of that movie's success. Bryan Singer has directed (arguably) the best movie in the franchise in X-Men 2 however, and many seem to feel he is a more than adequate replacement. But, if Singer also ends up passing, who could step in?

The list below is comprised of all past X-directors (I'm not actually expecting votes for Ratner!), some old Fox reliables, a few such as Josh Trank (although granted, he'll be busy!) and John Moore - who directed A Good Day To Die Hard and was in line for X-Men 3 back in the day - who might be real possibilities, and also some very unlikely candidates who would be seen more as fan-wishlist options. There's also the "other" option if you don't see anyone you like here. So, vote away..

John Moore (Max Payne) didn't direct Live Free or Die Hard, he's directing A Good Day to Die Hard. Len Wiseman (UNDERWORLD, Total Recall) directed Live Free or Die Hard.

I would like Chris Elliot to direct this. Else shelve the X-men 5-10 years. We don't need a perpetual crap parade every 2-3 years.

Nah, I voted for Singer. I'd love to see Duncan Jones, or Rupert Wyatt, or Josh Trank, or even J. J. Abrams helming the movie, but Singer is the most plausible choice, I think.

Not just that - X2 is still perhaps the best X-Men movie so far, and say what you want to say, but I think Superman Returns was a good movie, despite being a weak adaptation. But that aside, I believe Singer is still able to properly handle the X-Men property.

Everybody says that X-Men:FC was the best X-Men movie. While I liked that movie, X2 is hands down the best X-Men movie to date.

I say Bryan Singer or Rupert Wyatt should direct. Or even Alex Proyas(since Tom Rothman is leaving).

I left out a lot of great directors, I mean the list would have gone on forever. So I tried to restrict it (mostly) to guys who have at least had dealings with successful Fox franchises or genre movies in the past.

Me, because I will fix the continuity, connect all the movies, make it all make sense together, and finally make the impossible happen, by making people on this website understand something so logical, it is shocking and it's ridiculous that they don't get it yet. And that is:

COMIC BOOK =/= MOVIE

Idiots...

Bryan Singer did an excellent job with X-Men and X2. The Last Stand could've been MUCH better if Singer hadn't left it, but it wasn't horrible. X-Men Origins: Wolverine could've also been MUCH better, but it wasn't bad. Brett Ratner and Gavin Hood just aren't fit for the X-Men films. Matthew Vaughn got it back on track with the excellent X-Men: First Class. I think either Singer should return because he started it all and he understands the characters better than any of the other directors or bring in David Slade. I think David Slade would be a very interesting choice for an X-Men movie despite being better fit for a character like DareDevil, Punisher and Batman.

the best move for all future xmen movies, my favorite comic book, is to break from previous movies; xmen 1-3 and start anew making something closer to source material and far away from the abortions of CBMs that Singer spawned
