haha, i was scrolling down going, deadpool? deadpool? mask? mask? but damnit! haha, but sweet stuff, This movie looks awesome, and if anyone is wondering, those pics going around the internet of a toy who looks like Weapon XI, but is labeled "Deadpool," those are wrong. I've seen the same packaging on a little wolverine toy, and I looked at the back, and sure enough, deadpool looks like he does in the comics, I think that picture on the web is either a fake, or a misprint...anyway though, can't wait for this movie, it looks super freakin awesome

Just listened to the audio on the official website and I'm relieved to hear that they didn't make the actor playing Gambit try to make a Cajun accent. Gambit has always been a favorite of mine since I'm from south Louisiana but i always kinda cringed when I would hear the Gambit voice from cartoons/games ect....he sounds retarded. That Cajun guy from True Blood sounds retarded too. We don't really speak like that. I'd rather him be generic than speak like Bobby Bouche.

Ok sorry I just listened to it turned up really loud and I think when he says 'difference' and 'change' I can hear some sort of accent. No clue what I'd call it. *sigh*

Well they probably never meet in this movie, who knows. Or if they do maybe Cyk gets his memory wiped like Logan does.

yer i though that 2 where is the deadpool pic does any 1 no if thairs a pic with his mask on i no he puts it on at the end of the film but i really wana see it .
loganoneil
loganoneil - 3/9/2009, 8:16 AM
That is IF he puts his mask on... Remember people, it IS Ryan Renolds we're talking about here. I know, I know, he's as big a fanboy as anybody (he's probably dying to put the mask on just as much as we're dying to see him do it!), but the CORPORATION is the one making the film. And they're the ones who want his pretty little face all over the film to lure the teenie-bopper girls into the theaters to drool over his mug/bod. It wouldn't surprise me if Deadpool doesn't get scarred or even WEAR a mask... EVER (I wouldn't put it past 'em...)!
Roscoe182
Roscoe182 - 3/9/2009, 8:24 AM
No he does defantly put the mask on at the end of the film u have 2 remeber marvel now own thair own prodution studios thay have a lot of control over wots in the films now as aposed 2 the first xmen n spiderman films you just have to look at the hulk and iron man to see thair involment in the films now.

Sorry for the bad spelling .

it wud b a joke if he was in his yellow/blue or brown and tan all in 1 body costume i wana c deadpool in the mask cus thats basicly how u first see him in the comics with the mask . yer id like 2 hear more of an accent in his voice but im jst guna settle for the fact that he is actully in a the film this time ..

I go to school in New Orleans, so let me settle this...Gambit's accent is in fact a Cajun accent...It's not as strong or heavy as it was in the cartoon, but it is there! and what are you basing your tirades off of? a ten second audio clip? watch the movie, and then give your rants. And as far as Wolverine's costume, it wouldn't translate well on the big screen, it'd actually look kinda gay...it's bright yellow, now, in the comics, it's awesome, it reflects the feral personality he has, but in the movie, it wouldn't work. I think his attire is fine though, it's what Logan wears.

roscoe. it doesen't matter that marvel has their own production studio, yes we'll start to see marvel movies the way they were meant to be seen, but this film is not one of theirs, unfortunately fox still owns the rights to wolvie. but who knows maybe in ten years after the rights revert back to marvel, we'll finially see the x-men how we were meant to...maybe summers family(cable)

i love the fact they have gambit in the movie, but i'm a bit worried he might, might.. maybe suck, a tiny bit. same goes for deadpool. with that typed, i'm sure this will still be 2nd to the dark knight as the best comic book movie ever.

thank god i don't have to worry about my favorite cajun (being actually from south louisiana that accent fits perfectly so the whole debate about it not being the same trust me it is) i am still scared about deadpool but since i am only just getting into deadpool i am not really as scared as i was for gambit. this movie is going to be [frick]ing great i can't wait and there diffently needs to be a gambit and deadpool spin off oh and btw is it possible that we might not see deadpool's mask if they make a spinoff could they not just hold off him putting the mask on until the spinoff or at the end of wolvie:origins

Lol it seems some people are confused about what I mean about a Cajun accent so heres some history from wikipedia for you guys about our favorite Cajun Xman.

CAJUN:The word "Cajun" is a variant of Acadian. The Acadians were evicted from Acadia (which has since been resettled and consists of parts of what is now known as New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, Canada) in the period 1755-1763.The Cajuns who settled in southern Louisiana originally did so in the area just west of what is now New Orleans, mainly along the Mississippi River. Later, they were moved by the Spanish colonial government to areas west and southwest of New Orleans, in a region later named Acadiana.

CREOLE:In the United States, the word "Creole" usually refers to people of any race or mixture thereof who are descended from settlers in colonial French Louisiana before it became part of the United States in 1803 with the Louisiana Purchase. The term is also often used to mean simply "pertaining to New Orleans"

Just like how cajun food vs. creole food are 2 different things, the same goes for accents. In general people from parishes south of I10 (Lafouche, Terrebonne) sound ALOT different than someone from New Orleans would sound. If you see someone on TV talking strange and they call them Cajun, they're probably not truely deep south cajun. Now it would seem more appropriate to call Gambit Creole right? Well that doesn't sound as good does it? I don't really mind, this is a fiction character. I've never heard anyone in real life say 'mon ami' in a normal conversation and if any of you have...plz plz youtube it. Sorry for big post. Must now go eat some crawfish and wrestle alligators. Oh and both actors that voice Gambit are from Canada, kinda ironic.

Logan-X, in X-men the cartoons they all started wearing normal clothes, i.e wolverine in a vest and jeans with his brown coat, and all other mutants wearin ordianary clothes, think back to x-men 2 when wolverin turns and says his costume is tight, i belive it was cyclops who turns and says " would you pref yellow spandex" as a joke ...if im wrong people correct me. they cant put wolverine in yellow spandex in a film, he wud look stupid, they all wore the costumes they did cos thats how it went along in the cartoons be for all the mutants and ordinary people all lived in the same community..again if im wrong people correct me, but im at least 87 % confident lol :-), CANT WAIT FOR X-MEN ORIGINS !!!

Superman in spandex? sure....
Spidey in tights? why not....
A feral and menacing Wolvie in yellow spandex (or any color)? NOOOOPPPPEEE!

I love the Tshirt, Jacket and Jeans look. If you're a fan of Wolvie and read his books since the beginning, you notice his costume has changed over the years but what does he wear when he's not in costume? yep! White tshirt, jacket and jeans. That dont change and that is Logan for you right there. i think this movie is more about Logan and his life prior to being a superhero than Wolverine the Canadian superhero in tights anyway.
