According to The Wrap, X-Men: Days of Future Past will likely hit the $100 million mark this Memorial Day weekend in North America. Either way, the debut of the "inbetweenquel" will mark the fifth time in the past eight weeks that a movie based on a Marvel comic book has been #1 at the box office. While it won't be taking up any IMAX screens, the follow-up to X-Men: First Class is going to be released in 3D. A 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes indicates that the response to X-Men: Days of Future Past has so far been very positive, and there's every chance it could exceed expectations. There was some concern that the legal issues surrounding Bryan Singer would have an impact on the movie's performance financially, but that clearly isn't the case. Are you looking forward to seeing it? X-Men: Days of Future Past's huge all-star cast includes Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Daniel Cudmore, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Adan Canto, Anna Paquin, Evan Peters and Ellen Page.

That's actually pretty good. I suppose the Singer controversy had some impact, but I don't think it really affected anything here. Good for them.

Just saw the film, it was REALLY goddamn awesome and surprisingly character focused, especially on Charles, Erik and Raven as their actions pretty much effect all of mutant kind. Besides not enough of the fan[frick]ing tastic future segments, I really loved it all the way through.

I know a lot of you have your doubts about it and believe me, I was pretty skeptical they could pull it off. But its really just a well acted movie with a lot of heart, great action and some hilarious situations & jokes. Its not a classic standard run of the mill CBM block buster where half the planet is in ruins by the end of the final act, the fights are a lot more restrained but personnel and brutal, especially the future segments.

Yeah, that's quite a bit down from the initial tracking. Guess we won't know until we get that Friday total.

The comments sections are going to be fun this weekend, sad I'm gonna miss it.

Tracking says about $120+ million, but after seeing Godzilla over performed I am really curious how much money it will actually earn.

Which means on a regular three day weekend it would bring in $80 millionish? That's solid, but nothing earth shattering.

Why do people on this site keep calling it an "inbetweenquel"? It's a sequel through and through. It's a sequel to the original 2/3, The Wolverine, and First Class all at the same time. "Sequel".

@0megaDaGod

X2 is my favorite and while I still like that one more (nostalgia glasses and all that lol) I think this one combines the best of those two, its got the colorful and over the top superhero action you would find in an MCU film or in this case First Class with the gravitas and focus on the relationship between Eric & Charles along with the public perception of mutants in the original Singer movies.

Its kind of a best of both worlds all in one type of movie.

The movie was damn near perfect. Not only the best CBM of the year (i really don't think Guardians can top this) and not only the best X-Men movie but dammit it's one of the best CBMs ever! Cap & X-Men really stole and killed it this year.

Well, every big movie has been doing more than predictions lately, Thor, Lego, Cap, Neighbors, Godzilla, not Spiderman ;).
This could make a lot of money and tonight I'm gonna see if it is really that awesome
