Performance of Fassbender and McAvoy, Vaughn´s direction and Jennifer Lawrence beauty are the only reasons why im going to watch this "movie"

Lead Cassidy? Not Sean (Shawn) Cassidy for Banshee? Odd or Typo. The Monstrous evil could be Nuclear Radiation I guess, causes mutation. I don't care what they change as long as it's a good movie.

"determined to exact revenge on the monstrous evil that created him"

wtf? Wouldn't that be the Nazis(as far as mentality goes)? What are they still doing around? and on a beach? Was Magneto created? wow, I missed something here.

@robdel If it was nuclear radiation that created him, wouldn't that mean there was nuclear radiation in the death camps, or around whenever he was born, or mothers womb, etc.? That picture caption just doesn't make sense to me.

who knows...

"Taking revenge on the monstrous evil that "created" him"

I think we are taking this too literally. The quotation marks around "created" are a huge clue to me. My guessing is he is merely attacking the people who forced his hand. He doesn't see himself as a villain, just a man who fights for equality and then later that is twisted to a man who fights to be superior. What made him this way? The attitude of the non mutant population. They made him who he is, they created him.

@ BornToRon

oooohhhhhhhhh.........ok.

My taking it literally may have been a bit of wishful thinking. I mean, come on, who wouldn't like to see Magneto tear up a bunch of old retired Nazis?

@robdel, it's not capitalized, so it's not his name.

@Intruder, Hahahahahahahahahahahaha, oh my.

And I agree, I think everyone is taking "created" too literal. I think he is referring to humanity in general(but Nazi's in particular).

there is something about this film that not only makes it different but how they seemed to develop a story that none of us being Xmen fans/experts can predict. Impressive...most impressive.

Apparently, you guys don't read the comics much. You do realize that Azazel is considered the firest mutant? He is from biblical times, even before Apocolypse, and is possibbly the "father" of all mutants, being that he was most likely the first on Earth(also, he is the biological father of several mutants, including Nightcrawler).

So, either Magneto is fighting Azazel, or he's fighting a oppressive military, like the Nazis who threw him into a concentration camp, and forced the manifestation of his powers. According to X-Men lore, it takes some type of traumatic event to trigger mutant powers during puberty, or later. So, maybe Erik feels that if he never went thru the Holocaust, he'd still be normal.

I've always thought that behind Magneto's push for mutant superiority, there's been a self hatred thing about not being normal. Whe nhe lost his powers in the comics for a short time, he said it was the happiest he had ever been. Sorry to use this analogy, but its similiar to Hitler, in that Hitler's mother was Jewish, and he was raised practicing jewish beliefs.

@AlcoholicA - Old retired Nazis would fit nicely too, if not better than a group of "human supremacists". I was talking more to those who think he's getting revenge on those who gave him powers. We all know the only people who could possibly be accused of that are his parents as it's all genetic and they died at the hands of the Nazis. My point is he's getting revenge on the people who made him the person he is.

Magneto is on the Cuban coast. After bringing down the x-jet (from photo), he proceeds to lift a Submarine carrying Nuclear missiles out of the water to steal the missiles. (I read he lifted a sub in an article weeks ago). Historically, the missiles were transported off Cuba by way of a Russian Submarine. Sounds good to me and would make a good ending battle scene.

I hope by 'the monstrous evil that created him' they mean that he's comparing humanity's discrimination against mutants to the way the Nazis treated Jews in WWII, since he's at the receiving end of both those things, and he wants revenge against humanity.

Guason... What?! And, even if thats true... So what? That says nothing of Magneto, considering he's not part-wolf. Magneto is human. So, Azazel would be a likely ancestor, going back far enough.

Intruder... He was writing a suicide note cause, while powerless, he couldn't defend himself, and would reather die by his own hands than anyone elses. Also, when he lost his memory(actually Xavier wiped it from him) and he became Joseph for a while, he lost his powers but regained his memory. It was then that he said he was happiest.

I want new pictures of Beast or something. He is my favorite X-men character. I thought Azazil was from the book of Enoch and was a fallen angel that started creating Nephilims.....creepy and eeery hidden truth.

@marvel72. I like the "excitment meter". Here's mine.

TDKR: 8 (10 if Riddler was in it. Excitement will probably bump up to 10 anyway the closer the release date gets.)

THOR: 8 (Good casting. Love the character.)

CAPTAIN AMERICA: 5 (Terrible casting.)

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS: 5/7 w/8 potential. (I keep fluctuating with this one. I was never interested in it from it's first announcement. But I like the director and seeing Magnetos comic helmet was interesting. But then they referenced TWILIGHT when describing the story. I don't know what the [frick] is going on.)

SPIDER-MAN REBOOT: 4 (Looks cheap. Bad casting.)

THE AVENGERS: 7 (Ruffalo and Evans threaten to ruin everything. I blame Kevin Fiege for this. He's a douchebag.)

WAR MACHINE: 0 (Unessessary. Favre has made two films based on other people with Iron Man suits. Enough.)

BLACK PANTHER: 0 (The director makes documentaries with a handy cam.)

GREEN LANTERN: 5 (Looks cheap. Doesn't really feel comic book like. More like a Disney modest budget film for kids.)

GHOST RIDER: 5 (I'm shocked that there's even a sequel, but obviously Cage has made some deal to keep getting work. I thought the first one was unintentially funny and I own the DVD for the sake of keeping my MARVEL collection intact. I'll see it out of morbid curiousity.)
