Lucasfilm and Disney have been rapidly expanding their empire of "Star Wars" films, books, comics, video games and TV shows, but some fans aren't satisfied just seeing Harrison Ford as Han Solo. We want him to don his trusty fedora and whip us up some new Indy adventures.
In the
June issue of Vanity Fair, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy not only discusses a galaxy far, far away --
she also confirms rumors that another "Indiana Jones" movie "will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I'm not quite sure. We haven't started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it."
In 2013, Disney Chairman Alan Horn said another "Indiana Jones" movie wasn't going to happen anytime soon. "We haven't done anything,"
he told Variety. "We don't have a story. We need a story."
Not only did they need a story, Lucasfilm might also have been or still be shopping around for a new leading man. While purists want Ford to continue as the Nazi-thwarting archeology professor, rumors abound that "Guardians of the Galaxy" hero
Chris Pratt may take on the role if the series is rebooted.
For now, we'll just have to be patient and let Disney and Lucasfilm decide Indy's fate.
