While it was always too early for a trailer, Paramount Pictures debuted the first footage from Mission: Impossible 7 earlier today during their CinemaCon presentation, and it seems safe to say that it blew the roof off the annual Las Vegas convention.

As expected, the primary focus of the behind-the-scenes featurette was on Tom Cruise and the incredible stunts he performed for this installment, namely the sequence he describes as the most dangerous stunt he's ever done - a motorcycle base jump that he spent over one year preparing for. We've already seen photos of it along with a few set videos, but the 3x Academy Award-nominated megastar assured us we haven't seen anything yet.

Unfortunately, they didn't reveal the film's official title, which will presumably arrive with the trailer launch sometime near the end of this year or early next, but director Christopher McQuarrie did offer a tease of what's to come next, "The only thing that scares me more is what we have planned for Mission 8.

In addition to Cruise as the headliner, the highly anticipated McQ-directed action blockbuster will also see the return of Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Academy Award-nominee Vanessa Kirby as the White Widow, and Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge.

Newcomers to the franchise include the aforementioned Hayley Atwell (Avengers: EndgameCaptain America: The First Avenger), Pom Klementieff (Avengers: Endgame; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Shea Whigham (Perry Mason; Marvel's Agent Carter), Esai Morales (TitansLa Bamba), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2Hobbs & Shaw), Charles Parnell (Top Gun: MaverickTransformers: Age of Extinction), Indira Varma (Game of ThronesCarnival Row), Mark Gatiss (The FatherThe Favourite), and Cary Elwes (The Princess BrideSaw).

Mission: Impossible 7 lights the fuse in theaters on May 27, 2022; followed by Mission: Impossible 8 on July 7, 2023.

Haven't read this yet but my prediction is Tom was inside filming when the train crash was filmed a bit ago. And he survived.

Tom Cruise is slowly becoming like Jackie Chan with him doing most of not all of his own stunts . I recently watched a Mission Impossible vr video on my Oculus that was kinda cool. You ride along with Tom while he’s actually flying a real helicopter for the scenes when Cavil was chasing and shooting at him from the last Mission Impossible.

@AnthonyVonGeek - Tom will never be anything close to Jackie Chan... that's an insult to Jackie.

@JonC - I’m just talking about how he’s doing his own stunts. 🤷‍♂️🤣

When "Mission: Impossible" is no longer just a movie title but a phrase the crew can use to describe every new Tom Cruise stunt.

These stunts will be the death of Tom Cruise.

@Battabing - everytime the words Tom Cruise and Stunt appear in a headline, part of me is prepared to also read that the stunt will be his death

Odd they didn't film it last. Makes more sense: if he dies, at least you still have it in the can.

@theFUZZ008 - probably because they can just scrap both movies if he dies day one

I think the motor cliff jumped turned skydive is connected to the train driving down tbe ravine. Wouldn't even be surprised if Tom is gonna drive a motor on top of the train next

2nd film notwithstanding the Mission Impossible is one of the few franchises that progressively got better with each film and Fallout was the best one yet.

@Godzilla2000Zer - I like them better than the James Bond films (any most ways).

@Godzilla2000Zer - Same. I loved the original show when I was a very young boy (it ran from 1966 to 1973). It still creates suspense even now (last time I watched the first episode was a few years ago).

I can't find it streaming for free anywhere right now.

Anyway, the show specialized in "team work", which is what I liked about it the most (and the masks). It seems that after the first two M.I. films, they starting using the formula of the original TV show (which I why like the last few films).

My above comment; "...(any most ways)." What the F? I meant, (most of them, anyways). Poor proof-reading on my part.

@LSHF - Yeah I loved the team dynamic especially in Rogue Nation and Fallout.

@CrazyTomCruise -

Please be more careful. You don't need to keep outdoing yourself to impress us or make more money at the box office, so you?

I mean, this is really kind of "crazy", wouldn't you say?
