Earlier this week, we shared details on the Mission: Impossible 25th Anniversary Collector's Edition Blu-ray, and ahead of Saturday's celebration, Paramount Home Entertainment has now shared six exclusive interview clips with 3x Academy Award-nominated star/producer Tom Cruise and director/screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie reflecting on the first film's release.

While Cruise never intended to make a follow-up when the film was released on May 22, 1996, the now-iconic actioner has spawned five blockbuster sequels and is currently in production on two more, the untitled Mission: Impossible 7 and 8

In addition to a completely remastered version of the film, the combo set also includes an exclusive car decal and a gallery of the original trailers for the first six Mission: Impossible films.

Check out the interview clips below and keep scrolling for more details on the Blu-ray Collector's Edition!

Really 2 and 3 are the only ones im not that crazy about, 2nd one was kind of just a James Bond wannabe. 3rd one was kind of just okay

Christopher McQuarrie would be a good choice for Black Hawks, if Spielberg doesnt direct it himself

Always would have loved to have seen a film with Hunts Team from the First Film when they were all younger, not corrupt and not dead.

Cruise, Voight, Kristen Scott Thomas and Emilio Estevez

I'll probably give it a shot (along with the rest) around the time 7 is released, which I honestly don't know when that is. Hopefully they're as good as I remember them

The first one is fantastic and the camera work, especially during the dinner scene is sooo good reflecting Ethan’s world twisting and turning.

1 is still my favourite. It just has a tangible paranoid/claustrophobic atmosphere while also having fun during the set pieces.

Brian De Palma is overlooked IMO

Regarding MI3, I still can't believe that my high school classmate's sister is Maggie Q.

@MUTO123 - Yup, I was friendly with Maggie’s sister my senior year. Maggie was four years younger so we had graduated the year before she entered the 9th grade.

They don’t look much alike at all: while they’re both half-Asian, Maggie’s sister was more on the white side.

I was 15 when the 1st one came out and I loved it! It’s still my favorite one. The movie had suspense and kept you guessing. The one MI where the action wasn’t as important or made to be the reason you went to see it. I wish they’d go back to this, even though the new ones are still really great.

First is still the best.

5 and 6 are great for other reasons though.

MI3 is my favorite by far, followed by Ghost Protocol, and Rogue Nation tied for 2nd place in my opinion, then MI1 3rd. I loved Fallout, but that ending and helicopter circus took me out of the movie...The ending in Fallout could have been handled much much better.

MI2 is pure utter garbage.
