Tom Cruise Films An Insane Train Crash In The Latest Set Video From MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7

While filming on Mission: Impossible 7 may be reaching the finish line, it looks like they still have a few insane stunts left on their to-do list, including what appears to be a wild train crash.

As filming continues on Paramount's highly anticipated Mission: Impossible 7 (and 8?), an awesome batch of set photos and a video have found their way online, revealing director Christopher McQuarrie, star Tom Cruise, and the production team shooting what appears to be a runaway train crash in Derbyshire.

While we'll have to wait a while to learn the context of the sequence, Cruise is believed to have been filming aboard the train earlier in the week. However, an observer who was on-site notes that the stunt may not have gone according to plan, as Cruise and company didn't seem all that enthusiastic after the train crash-landed - although it's really just speculation for now as it's hard to imagine the observer being able to get a clear idea from his vantage point. Regardless, we'll likely hear a lot more about this stunt in the coming months.

It remains unclear whether shooting on Mission: Impossible 8 will begin as soon as Mission 7 wraps, or if they'll take a hiatus (and a much-needed vacation) to allow Cruise to hit the promotional tour for his other upcoming actioner Top Gun: Maverick, which is currently scheduled to hit theaters this November.

As far as we know, only Cruise and new co-star Hayley Atwell are on location filming this train scene, which could very well be the sequel's last schedule as returning star Rebecca Ferguson recently revealed that she's already wrapped her scenes - even debuting a brand new look at the U.K. premiere of Reminiscence earlier this week, which suddenly makes her status for the next film a bit uncertain, although she was previously confirmed to be on board for both installments.

In addition to Cruise as the headliner, the highly anticipated McQ-directed action blockbuster will also see the return of Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Academy Award-nominee Vanessa Kirby as the White Widow, and Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge.

Newcomers to the franchise include the aforementioned Hayley Atwell (Avengers: EndgameCaptain America: The First Avenger), Pom Klementieff (Avengers: Endgame; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Shea Whigham (Perry Mason; Marvel's Agent Carter), Esai Morales (TitansLa Bamba), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2Hobbs & Shaw), Charles Parnell (Top Gun: MaverickTransformers: Age of Extinction), Indira Varma (Game of ThronesCarnival Row), Mark Gatiss (The FatherThe Favourite), and Cary Elwes (The Princess BrideSaw).

Mission: Impossible 7 lights the fuse in theaters on May 27, 2022; followed by Mission: Impossible 8 on July 7, 2023.

@micvalpro - Wonder when he will do his space movie.

If he doesn't sky dive from the international space station back to earth on camera, it will all be pointless

Guess Tom has lost the power of eternal youth.

Looks like he would fit right in with The Expendables

@MosquitoFarmer - Maybe they just too shy to fully express their deep and never-ending appreciation for what you do for them. Or their a**holes. Or they think because you get paid, that your checks are appreciation enough (which, of course, they aren't).

@MisterDoctor217 - I miss Agent Carter. Disney+ has it on their channel, so hopefully they can do a series and allow her to finish that story that was going on during the end of the second season cliff-hanger.

@TheJester187 - Some people don't mind seeing these sorts of things more than once. It's perfectly normal.
