Another round of photos from the set of Loki have found their way online, and we once again return to that 1970s-era McDonalds. This time, we get to see Sylvie's (Sophia Di Martino) old costume beneath her work uniform and more of Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief.
We don't know exactly what's going on here outside of Loki once again working for the Time Variance Authority, and there's every chance this could be the TVA he found himself in at the end of season 1 (where it's ruled over by a Kang the Conqueror Variant). Either way, this reunion promises to be very interesting.
What we do know is that the Sacred Timeline is no more, so the TVA can now jump between realities and all manner of timelines. That should lead to lots of Multiversal madness.
There had been plans for Loki's first season to be set during the 1970s, and it looks like that period will potentially be a big part of this next batch of episodes. After killing He Who Remains and losing Loki, Sylvie may well have chosen to take refuge in this timeline; it's hard to say for sure.
Regardless, Loki remains the only Marvel Studios TV series on Disney+ to get a season 2, and following the departures of director Kate Herron and Head Writer Michael Waldron, season 1 scribe Eric Martin is taking over the latter's role. That's no bad thing based on his previous work, while Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are also on board.
There's no word on a premiere date for Loki season 2, but the belief is that it will be released on Disney+ shortly after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (which hits theaters on February 17, 2023). Jonathan Majors will return as Kang in the threequel, though we expect to see him in this series as well.
