Disney Channels Worldwide presented its 2010-11 programming highlights to its U.S. advertisers. In this highlights presentation was a a synopsis for "The Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes."

Here is Disney's presentation.....

“The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” — Further aligning the strength of Marvel’s hugely popular characters and stories with the burgeoning Disney XD brand and global reach, an all-new animated series, “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,” will debut in fall 2010 on Disney XD and DisneyXD.com. Beginning with the “Iron Man” and “Incredible Hulk” movies in 2008, the release of “Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” follows Marvel’s overall “Avengers Assemble” strategy introducing the greatest heroes in the Marvel Universe through various content platforms, including the upcoming feature films “Iron Man 2” in May of 2010, “Thor” in May of 2011 and “Captain America” in July of 2011, all building up to the Avengers theatrical film in 2012. Produced by Marvel Animation, the animated series features 52 episodes targeted at kids 9-14, starring Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Giant Man and Wasp — who form the Avengers, a team assembled when no single hero’s powers can save the world. A 20-part “micro-series” that focuses on each hero’s backstory will roll out in fall 2010 on Disney XD, immediately followed by the series premiere on Disney XD in the U.S. and, shortly thereafter, around the world. Disney XD, the single largest distributor of Marvel content around the world, currently showcases approximately 20 hours of Marvel series (including “The Spectacular Spider-Man,” “Fantastic Four” and “Iron Man”) each week .

This sounds like it will not only be worth watching, but will set up The Avengers movie almost perfectly.

@dellamorte1872
in the first few issues of the Avengers, Hulk was a part of the original lineup. it didn't last long but it shows that Marvel is staying faithful to the comic in this animated series.
i just hope they manage to pull it off.

Here is a trailer for it.

Definitely skewed towards kids but thats okay. It just helps bring more people towards the live version

Yeah, this seems about a flight of steps up from Super Hero Squad. I might check it out when I get a chance. This may be a good series based on the great group's early days with modern tastes

It makes more sense for She-Hulk to be a member. She has FAR more personality than brute Hulk most often used and intelligent enough that she can interact with the characters beyond "hulk" "smash" and "bug"

i love all the comments that this is for kids. but then most people praise Justice League Unlimited, like that wasn't for kids.

this is a cartoon for kids, just like JLU was. why so surprised?

@ mikesanderson

this was under development before Disney was involved with Marvel. but i agree, the hate for Disney is ridiculous.

CDB: I agree completely. Just like JLU this is geared for kids like almost all animated shows. When one comes out that is also watchable to adults all of a sudden people say it was aimed at them. I don't think thats the case most of the time. Its just that adults happen to find them cool also.

I think its more a matter of loving the subject matter when we were in the targeted age bracket so much, that we will never outgrow the material.

DogsOfWar - 3/4/2010, 8:29 AM
@CDB-I think there is a difference. Obviously almost all mainstream cartoons are geared towards kids but JLU came across as more serious with solid story lines. The characters had flaws and had to figure out how to overcome them. At first glance, this new Avengers looks to be geared much more towards kids. The flashy animation and simple dialogue don't seem to elevate this toon like JLU or others did. Now, this is just a trailer so the jury is still out but at first glance it has a kiddie quality like the new Ironboy or whatever its called does.

please don't be shit like that f****** iron-man cartoon that is total bollocks.

Looks like their best effort yet. Not too kiddy like Superhero Squad. Not all characters reverted to children or teenage versions like past Avengers attempts or the recent Iron Man piece of crap. Not straying far from the original source material like the most recent Avengers cartoon where everyone wears armor and all look the same. This one looks real close the actual silver age Avengers characters.

The correct founding members excluding Cap, who for all we know might correctly only appear after a couple of episodes into it's run, just like in Avengers #4. I wouldn't mind if they kept the Hulk around a while. I always hated the fact that he left after Avengers #2.

I hope the Hulk is the smart-a$$, grouchy (think Mr. Fixit) version that actually existed back then and not the dumb "Hulk Smash" version that came later.

This looks like the Marvel equivilent of the Justice League animated series. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion. Not my exact choice of animation style or character designs on some parts, but even so it's still looks to be their best attempt yet.

why does everyone saw the hulk is retrd have you read any of the new comics where he has spoke in full sentences made plns(world war hulk) and even has shown his thoughts on lonlyness, revenge, justice, and morality?
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 3/4/2010, 2:21 PM
@ heavenlydark

thats something thats only happened since planet hulk. but back in the day, he went through a time where he WAS banner in HULK's body. meaning, he was a smart hulk. the problem is, when he was like that, he was nowhere near as strong. up until planet hulk, it was always, the smarter hulk is, the weaker he is. there was always a fine balance.

only since planet hulk has he been able to express thought, while keeping his fierceness.

@ hawkesblueyes

yeah man, i think its a double standard for sure. MOST animation is geared toward kids (the stuff on cable tv, anyway), its just that sometimes, us adults like it too. like JLU, and more than likely this.

@ dogs

like you said, its hard to say what this will really be like after one trailer. because if you can think back to when JLU was on TV, and the commercials they used to show for it, it LOOKED like it was a full on kids show...which it was, even though it did the things you mentioned. so we'll see..

IDK how I missed this post! I'm glad that Marvel has committed to 52 episodes!! This is exciting news! Finally we get to see the REAL Avengers in their own animated series! It only took 47 years!!!
Jism
Jism - 3/8/2010, 3:37 PM
Actually, this was done b4 Disney even came into the mix.
What was good about JLU was the writers on the show actually knew of the characters and also gave a damn about them.Until you can get the kind of writers DC has had on their TV series(Batman Animated,JLU),MArvel's shows will always be sub-par an not remembered.
