Marvel Animation

Marvel Animation

Has Marvel found the solution to their animation problems and not realize it? Here is what I feel they should do in the animation department.

Marvel has been known to be a mixed bag when it comes to animation. I for one am not a big fan of their shows. The exceptions being the 90's Spider-Man show and X-Men show, as well as The Spectacular Spider-Man. I also really like their animated movies. My favorites being: Ultimate Avengers, Ultimate Avengers 2, The Invincible Iron Man and Doctor Strange. No matter how die hard of a fan you are of Marvel or any other company that isn't DC, there is no denying they have some damn good animated movies. DC kicks Marvel's ass in animation. Both shows and movies, I can't comment on the Spawn tv show considering I've never seen it. That being said, I think Marvel did something in the animation recently that I feel should be a main stay and replace what they are doing currently in animation. It could be a way to re-introduce popular characters and be a way to introduce characters who normally don't get the spotlight. That solution is....

Yes, Marvel Anime. Now, I'm not an anime person myself. But, I feel there is no denying that anime tends to have good stories, amazing fight sequences and beautiful animation. Now, I feel if Marvel replaced all their shows with Marvel Anime shows that go beyond 12 episodes of course, I feel DC would have finally meet their match in animation. I think Marvel looks better in anime as far as cartoons go. I recently gave it a shot and started with, X-Men. Personally, I think it's the best interpretation of the X-Men as far as shows go. The original 90's show and X-Men: Evolution are up there but, X-Men anime kicked major ass. To be honest, I'm watching Wolverine Anime right now as I type this article and I think it's really good so far. I still need to watch Iron Man and Blade yet but, I'm eager to watch them now. Think about it, how cool would it be to see more Marvel characters get anime shows on tv? DareDevil, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Black Panther, or even Heroes for Hire? That would be badass in my opinion. Anime has a tendency to have a little bit stronger and more interesting stories than with most shows.

I think Marvel Anime would be even a stronger series. Before anyone starts bashing, no this is not Anti-DC. I will delete those comments. I think this is a good way for Marvel to rejuvinate their shows. Cause let's face it, Marvel's shows really aren't all that good. It's been awhile since they've had a good one. Marvel isn't really doing all that good with Ultimate Spider-Man and I really don't remember how many Avengers shows they've been through. What happened with shows like The Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four, ect. I think bringing those characters back in Marvel Anime would be great. Hulk would be a little bit tricky to picture in an anime, maybe putting him on another show as Bruce Banner would be a good thing to do with that character for awhile. Spider-Man is also (for me anyways) a little bit difficult to picture as an anime. But, I think the personal journey for Peter and the hero journey as Spider-Man would be really good to see. Without changes to the characters of course. The Punisher or maybe even Silver Surfer would be intersting as well. At this point, I'm just throwing out suggestions for potential shows. But, Marvel doesn't know a good thing in animation apparently.

If you guys have seen Marvel Anime, what do you think? Would it be a good idea to do a complete restart and have their shows be, Marvel Anime? I personally think it would be. Comment below and be respectful about it.

Marvel has had...

Three awesome animated shows so far, Spider-Man (1994-98 i think?) Spectacular Spider-Man and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Two decent ones, Wolverine & The X-Men, and Fantastic Four from 2003 (I actually really liked that one)
The rest are either bad, or just not good. That's just my opinion though...

And honestly, I'd have to disagree. Anime sucks, no offense to Anime fans but I find everything about it to be just super annoying. The look of the characters, the way they sound, etc.
I think Anime marvel heroes isnt a good idea, not trying to disrespect your article but I strongly disagree.would you want Captain America to be japanese? Or Iron Man to be Japanese? It sounds dumb IMO...

I like the article, but I disagree. Keep comics an Anime separate, they don't go together very well.

X-Men anime was fantastic and I really like that it drew from Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men.

I wasn't really a fan of the others. I haven't watched Blade yet, though, and i think thaf one had potential.

@ Fenix

Dude, just because its anime doesn't mean all the characters are Japanese. The X-Men were still Americans that lived in New York, their mission just happened to take them to Japan. They wouldn't make an Asian Captain America...thats just ridiculous. If nothing else, you should definately give X-Men anime a try. Its awesome.

I have to disagree Avengers EMH was one of their best endeavors. With the ever contiuing story arch I thought it was faithful enough to the source material but still managing to reinvent itself. Marvel should continue making shows like that. Unfortantly children in this day of age don't have the attention span to watch shows like that. That's why Avengers and DC's Young Justice got canceled.

As much as I love anime, Wolverine,Iron Man and Blade sucked! X-men wasn't half bad. But yeah, I agree. Allows for better content and more mature themes which is one thing I really want with Marvel and DC animation on TV. Just cause its superhero animation, doesn't mean it needs to appeal only to kids! [frick] that logic!
