SYNOPSIS

Wolverine is the best there is at what he does - although of course, what he does isn’t very nice. But long before he was a member of the X-Men, a tormented experiment of the Weapon-X project, or even a savage bar brawler known as Logan – he was simply a young boy.

What incredible forces created this man, the world’s greatest killing machine? For years, Wolverine has searched desperately for answers from his past, from the wilds of the Canadian Wilderness to the teeming cities of Japan and beyond. And despite his perseverance and longing for the truth, he remains an enigma to himself and those around him. But, in this landmark event, Marvel reveals all: the birth and childhood of young James Howlett…the intriguing secrets of his family history…and the tragedy that changed everything.

Welcome to the greatest story never told.

Bonus Features Include:

An exclusive retrospective with the Eisner Award-Winning creative team behind Origin.

Total Feature Running Time: +/- 66 minutes

You'd think that with Marvel's recent success with their films, they would make some killer animated movies. Ultimate Avengers was quite enjoyable and the animation was easy on the eyes.

What is wrong with Marvel and trying to cram this motion comic crap on us?! I'm sick of only having DC animation on my shelf. Someone needs to fire these asshats over in their animation department.

It should be better than the other one. The first one was b4 they really got into "motion comics".

It was great story wise. Maybe they'll do one for Wolverine The End after this.

I hate motion comics, and I hate Wolverine: Origin.

As soon as they mapped out exactly who Wolverine was, where he came from, and that he was (only) 120ish years old is where they started going downhill on writing his character, imo. The mystery that no one (not even Wolverine) knew how old he was or where he came from was a good part of what made him so intriguing in the 80s/90s.

In fact, I'd put Wolverine: Origin in the top 3 disservices they've done to Logan since 2000. In no particular order (the first two kind of tie for the worst things in the world):

1. Made Wolverine a war criminal throughout most of the 1900s, with his every move manipulated by Romulus. See also anything written by Way, or having to do with Itsu and Daken.

2. Given him his memory back with the House of M conclusion. Potentially interesting, but I think they blew it with everything included in my first point, and then having part of his memories removed again recently pretty much retconned it. So it removed the mystery of him without any real benefits whatsoever.

3. Solidified his origin/how old he was/where he came from, etc (as has already been discussed).

These points don't count the whole idea that Feral mutants are descended from dog-people, since that was pretty much retconned (thank goodness).

I enjoy motion comics (mostly for nostalgia), but it should go without saying a full animated adaptation would be a far superior video experience.

Crud Yeah. These motion comics are freaking so tight. The Joss Whedon Astonishing X men motion comics are a lot cooler than anything fox put out.

This looks awesome.
Animated films are allright but it seems like the motion comics are a lot more legit as far as story and characters

Started Watching Inhumans and it's so sick. It's awesome that they can use all the Marvel Characters in these.
Did I mention Inhumans is so sick. Gotta finish watching it

@ sniktsnakt . Totally agree with ya man. Wolvie in the 80's and 90's was such a great character because there still was that mystery and that fueled that inner struggle he always had. That and he was always struggling with his inner beasst. Those are the two qualities that really made Wolverine a unique character, in my opinion. I really hope they touch on that in the new movie. I really disliked Origin (the book). Did you notice they tried to color Dog and James hair differently so the reader would be confused on who was who. SOmetimes Dog's hair was dark and sometimes lighter. I just think that was lazy and predictable. In terms of story...It really wasn't that remarkable. So Logan is this rich kid who had allergies all his life and killed his father. The story wasn't compelling and really didn't have much soul. It didn't live up to the hype and wasn't the origin that Wolverine deserved.
