WB Meeting In April To Discuss Resurrecting YOUNG JUSTICE And GREEN LANTERN: TAS?

Word from the people behind SMGOtv is that fan outcry has prompted Warner Bros. to take a second look at Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series and that an April meeting has been set to determine the feasibility of more episodes via crowd funding.

While their main website is down for a relaunch, the people of SMGO took to Tumblr to inform the masses that there's a small spark of hope for YOUNG JUSTICE and GREEN LANTERN: THE ANIMATED SERIES to continue. Specifically, the people behind SMGOtv are poised to launch a crowdfunded campaign (think Kickstarter) to save the two fan favorite animated shows but they must first receive the official OK from WB Animation. If they get approval, fans will be able to finance more material for the shows (episodes, OVA, film, etc.). If you want to see more YJ and GL:TAS then continue to make your voices heard right up till the April 11th meeting.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series executive producer Giancarlo Volpe shared the following on March 23rd.

And we received the hopeful news from SMOGtv earlier today.

Dev7@ Not really living in the past. It's only been two seasons. Unless you mean the characters, which primarily spin out of Action Comics #1, from 1938, so yeah, I guess that is living in the past. True.
I've just started watching this show, last week and I'm loving it. Nearly finished the first Season. Really impressive character work going on, there. Definitely desreves a third season, I would say. Or at least some sort of continuation of the Earth 16 universe, in a future 2D cartoon.

I don't think you guys understand the point of SMGO. They're a crowdfunding site that first builds relationships with the studios and gets permission to crowdfund the shows which means the fans raise a good portion of the money (mostly broadcasting funds) so the studio can afford to start making the show again. If you go to their site they have a thorough explanation of the process. And the best part is that SMGO never touches our money, its all through paypal and goes directly to the studio ONLY if the studio signs the contract agreeing to produce the next season.

Want to know why the toys did not sell for GL? The show was robbed of any momentum leading in to Christmas. We got a half season early in the year, then a 4 month hiatus where 2 episodes were aired, then nothing else for months leading into Christmas.
What kid would be excited about toys for a show that is completely out of mind for the holidays?

@PantherX Toy sales will not matter if the fans supply the $$$ directly.

@Dev7- Maybe if these shows were untimely cancelled years ago you might have a point. However, they just went off the air a few weeks ago. That's not exactly living in the past or being nostalgic.

Just bring back YJ, everything with Green Lantern is doomed to fail.

His movie, his TV show, his comic now that Geoff Johns is off the books. All lead to failure!

Why we need another Batman series is a mystery to me, and that Teen Titans GO! crap needs to do just that, go away...far away.

The regular Teen Titans was overrated on its own. -_-...

Why would a kiddy version of that be anymore appealing?

Do kids really play with action figures much compared to say when I was 8 or 9(I'm 25 now)? I think kids would prefer to play games on a iPad/iPhone. Plus, at the Walmart here, I don't see ANY GL or YJ toys. Just Spider-Man, The Avengers, and Batman.

@Marvel87 Kids stopped playing with action figures shortly after The Batman started up. That's why we never got Legion of Super-Heroes toys.

Young Justice needs at least one more season. They'd been building toward a Darkseid confrontation for the whole run. A third season will round it out well.
GL ended on a hopeful note, so I'm okay with that ending.

I can't belive that they ended the Young Justice just when the New Gods-saga was about to start.

I think the story and characters can be expanded on a lot more if they had 3rd or even 4th season to give them a fair shot at developing both elements and then a well deserved farewell finale. But to leave things the way they are is disappointing, the effort/support for this show is great but the down fall well be the funding. How long will the crowd really pay for a show that may or may not be given the same effort by the creators? I'm willing to give it a try at least once but if the same quality isn't there. Then I'll just watch the dvd's

There is hope, a lot of shows have gone out too soon like Wolverine and the X-Men, Spec Spidey, Avengers but I cant recall any of them having such a outcry like these two shows. I hope this kicks off and the fans get the show back on, I loved it...first poster is a moron

They would make more money making Young Justice toys than Teen Titans Go toys.

great news i hope both come back for the sake of the viewers but personally i just want my 21min a week episodes of young justice back.

i was holding off on buying the dvds till this news popped up. i usually like to buy full seasons but i bought the single dvds if it means bringing the shows back.

regardless of whether or not everyone liked these shows, isnt more superheroes a good thing no matter what.

While I'd like a new season, I'd be happy enough if Young Justice got a movie to tell a version of watever Darkseid/Savage plot was being cooked up for Season 3.

Tevii - 3/26/2013, 2:33 PM
Cool they are "meeting"

but fan outcry wont do anything.

People have to BUY THE DVDS AND TOYS. that is the ONLY way to get WBs attention.

So people, stop Downloading the episodes for free. Go buy the dvds.

Both shows are excellent television, and I really hope they get continued. Both of the shows had plenty of Easter eggs and cameos that could've set up a respective 3rd and 2nd season.
