Anyone who doesn't already know the twist in Oldboy is a noob unaware of what is happening outside the US. Its only the most notorious OMG/WTF moment in contemporary world cinema.

Spike... you're a hack that doesn't have an original thought of his own.

Throw yourself of a bridge already

I see fanboi's always rave about old-boy. But truthfully, how many Americans actually watch Korean Language films, or Foreign films for that matter.

Awesome!
The twist will probably be changed. I mean, it'll keep things fresh.

If you change the plot twist then there's no point of remaking the film. Every major plot point and character arch relies on that twist. In my guesstimate the basic twist is kept the same but with minor, artificial changes.

plot twist is the same but early reports say it is even darker than original

i got the problem with this movie. They said they are focusing on graphic novel, not the orignal film. So it's not the remake. Was there a hammer fight in the comic as well ?

I wouldn't be surprised if the plot twist was made 'darker' in an Americanized version. Its typical that an American movie has to always make a more one-dimensional film.

^^^ how can you even make the plot twist any darker?? It was already pretty fricked up

Sam Jackson? He is overused and I hate him as a bad guy.

my buddy made me watch this film and i kinda of already wanted to, but never found the time. I AM TELLING YOU ALL RIGHT NOW THAT IF YOU WANT TO SEE ONE OF THE MOST TWISTED AND AMAZING ENDINGS IN CINEMA HISTORY YOU NEED TO WATCH THE ORIGINAL FILM. If you love movies then you will love this film. I thought Christopher Nolan [frick]ed my mind, but this tops everything. definitely worth the watch! I'm really interested to see how the do the ending in this remake because i'm not sure how American audiences will take it.

Oldboy and 13 Assassins are the two best foreign films I've ever seen . both are on Netflix and you all should check them out.

Hooray, another film not part of a shared universe. They're few and far between these days, turning a once brilliant genre into an overblown shambles that is totally ignorant of the regular movie goers, turning a trip to the cinema into a goddamn homework assignment!
