This final trailer for Rupert Sanders' Ghost in the Shell remake premiered last night during The Walking Dead, and it features quite a bit of previously unseen footage. The teaser also gives those that might not be too familiar with the original anime/manga a much better idea of what to expect from the plot.

Check it out below along with a new poster, and let us know if you plan on seeing this in theaters when it opens on the 31st.

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

Rupert Sanders is at the helm of Ghost in the Shell, which also stars Michael Pitt, Juliette Binoche, “Beat” Takeshi Kitano, Michael Wincott, and Pilou Asbæk, and is set for release on March 31, 2017.

Been loving the posters for this movie so far, but I'm still against the casting.

Its a hard book to adapt... visually easy, but to make it emotionally investing for the audience it is very hard. The main character has little to no emotions... its like having C3PO being the main character.

@ODanil - Typically that is a bad sign, though it could simply be the studios choice. If it was part of a larger universe and they didn't want to provide spoilers towards future movies that would be understandable. If it is due to translation or technical reasons then that is also ok.

I think your headline got cut off there, Ror. Scarlett Johansson's major... whats?
LSHF
LSHF - 3/27/2017, 2:37 PM
@Spock0Clock - "Major" is her character's name. So, Chris Evan's Steve Rogers, Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, SJ's Major. Like that.

Not since Trank's Fantastic Four has something looked like such a guaranteed flop.

This will likely flop. Unfortunately it will also hurt Scarjo's chances of getting her solo Black Widow film

Am I the only one that thinks this looks beautiful and interesting?

Is everybody still mad the Scarjo was cast?
LSHF
LSHF - 3/27/2017, 2:41 PM
@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - I don't give a f about the casting. Everyone on board agreed that more tickets will sell with SJ, so, that is reason enough for me. The studios invest in these films to make profit, so they need a big lead actor/actress. If not JS, then maybe this film would either NOT have gotten made, or made with a unknown Asian actress, sold a million, lost money, and went to DVD. Which would be a shame. Having SJ helps PAY for the film. Complaining about it is unrealistic and will get nowhere. It isn't hurting anyone.

Anyway, it looks beautiful, and will probably especially be so in 3-D. I'm on board.

@CBMAficionado - Agreed. It would make little or no money with an unknown although the source material is solid. This world is just overly sensitive and PC. Sickening. To those out there crying about whitewashing, name someone who would bring in the money...*tic toc

I'm honestly loving the look and feel of this movie from what we've seen it's stayed pretty true; I hope it's good. if it is good maybe it'll pave the way for an Akira adaptation
