Thanks to San Diego Comic-Con this week, we've been learning quite a bit about Marvel's most-anticipated outing next year, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Among the things revealed last week was that some of Earth's mightiest heroes want a break from saving the world, which will ultimately set their newest foe in motion. However, Mark Ruffalo recently explained a bit more of what the Avengers will be going through next summer. "Joss [Whedon] is in his full height of his powers," the Incredible Hulk actor told USA Today yesterday. "This movie is much more sprawling and epic than the first one. They’re really in an existential, dire crisis. It has a darker quality. The Avengers are really struggling with their own shortcomings and the dissolution of S.H.I.E.L.D. and where they go and who they are in the world. There’s a lot of negativity towards them."

In seperate interview with Entertainment Weekly, the subject of doing another standalone Hulk movie came up yet again, but Mark Ruffalo responded with a bit more of what Bruce Banner will be dealing with in Avengers: Age of Ultron.  "I think they set it up nicely now that Banner’s turning 46 years old, and there comes a point where it’s like 'how much more running can I do for myself?'" He was then asked how getting older changes Banner. "Whatever you hate about yourself or you don’t like, when you get to be 46 years old, you start to say 'okay, no.' Obviously, you can never really get away from yourself, so you start to live with some of the things you think are so bad," he replied. "And maybe they’re not that bad. Maybe those things are what you need to do whatever you were never able to accomplish. I think that’s the ticket forward for Banner, to start to figure out where we go with him, keep that story interesting. I think there’s a whole relationship with Banner and Hulk that needs to be discovered. There’s a very cool thing happening: Hulk is as afraid of Banner as Banner is afraid of Hulk."

He continued, "It’s in the comics. But because you haven’t really been able to get inside of Hulk’s head, because the [cinematic] technology wasn’t available to make it nuanced enough to do that, and now it is. So now I think there’s a way to do it. Both of these guys are obviously the same guy, and they have got to come to peace somehow with each other. And I think that this confrontation is building along the lines of this film." What do you think?

Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Cobie Smulders Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader. The film is set for release on May 1, 2015.

"There’s a lot of negativity towards them."

That might explain the rioting we have seen in some of the set videos.

@Jollem Yes I'm sure it'll be just like Transformers 4. Joss has even said [frick] you to his feminist ways and it'll be nothing but ass and boob shots for Black Widow and Scarlet Witch.

Expect Cap to be racist also.

Except Transformers 4 deserved all the negativity it got.

other better movies that are example of that are: Spiderman 2, The Dark Knight, Empire Strikes back, The Winter Soldier, to name the ones at the top of my head...of course, anyone can cherry pick the sh*tty options if they want.

This honestly has a chance at blowing the first Avengers completely away. Like everything I'm seeing and hearing about this movie sounds amazing. Except for Quicksilver's outfit

One thing that bothers me about this film is the Banner and Widow romance. I've always viewed Banner as being very loyal to Betty and I think its a shame that she hasn't even been mentioned. Even worse is it seems Widow has had a brief relationship with every one of the Avengers from Cap, Hawkeye, and Iron Man and her with Banner just seems odd to me.

Maybe I'll change my mind when the film is released.
