AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - Did Thanos' Finger Snap Also Kill Plants And Animals?

Those in the Marvel Cinematic Universe almost certainly lost some of their loved ones when Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out half of the universe in Avengers: Infinity War but to make matters worse for the survivors, there's a very good chance they lost their pets too! That's according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige who confirmed that it wasn't just people who turned to dust.

When he was asked by Birth.Movies.Death if half of the world's animals are gone, he said: "Yes! Yes, all life." That means plants too and it actually makes sense seeing as Rocket was among the Mad Titan's casualties. It seems no one was safe from Thanos' wrath and thinking about it, it wouldn't really make sense for only "people" to vanish when he snapped his fingers in order to balance the universe.

It's highly unlikely that missing cats and dogs will be talked about in Avengers 4 but Ant-Man might struggle to find some ants to help him out in the movie! What do you guys think of this revelation from Feige? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on that in the comments section down below.

I think you meant to write Groot and not Rocket. Rocket's still alive.

"That means plants too and it actually makes sense seeing as Rocket was among the Mad Titan's casualties."

So Rocket "RACCOON" is a plant now?

Besides the fact that Rocket didn't die, you realise a simple way to explain how the snap might work is that it targets SENTIENT LIFE? "People"? Are aliens people?

Arent plants a natural resource that thanos would want to save? Like we need them for oxygen and s#&t?

@rebellion - This is exactly what I was going to say. Plants are food and a natural resource. Thanos claims he's trying to save the universe from overpopulation and using up all the natural resources.

Plants would want to be saved.

I'm starting to think that Thanos is just a crazy dude that wants to kill half of the universe. He just “justifies” it as saving the universe or maybe he's doing it for something/someone else.

Also aren't plants part of the resources that Thanos wants to “increase” by decreasing the population?

Thanos was culling SENTIENT LIFE, not all life. He just said half of all life the universe for dramatic effect.

Reason being Thanos was culling (sentient life) to preserve resources like food sources and fuel and metals for building things. Wild animals maintain a natural balance with nature.

They do not breed beyond the local ecology's ability to sustain themselves. Remember this rant by Agent Smith from The Matrix?

Intelligent species make choices and most of them choose to live beyond their means or the planet they live on's
ability to sustain them long-term.

If it truly was half of all life, they could have shown half the trees and random birds in Wakanda turning to dust.

No. Most (non-sentient) life would live within the ability of the local environment to sustain itself.

It was clearly sentient life that was his concern.
