Heading into
Avengers: Endgame, there are so many questions regarding the fate of so many of the core characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes that fans are most concerned about is Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, who has long been the cornerstone of not just the Avengers, but the MCU as well.
No one knows for sure what Thanos has in store for Cap in
Avengers: Endgame, but actor Chris Evans has assured fans that Steve Rogers' arc will be complete by the end of the film. Evans made the admission at a press conference earlier today.
Exactly what he means by that is open to interpretation, however, as he was cut off by director Joe Russo before he could elaborate.
"It's the completion of the arc, that's safe to say, right?" Evans said, looking over to Joe Russo for approval before continuing.
"This movie does provide kind of an ending to a lot of --"
And that's when he was cut off.
"There is a 22-film tapestry, you know," Evans eventually continued.
"He's been through so much."
In order to avoid spoilers, the conversation shifted to what Evans has enjoyed the most while working within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which he said has been the friendships he's formed with his co-stars. And that is when Robert Downey Jr. poked fun at Evans not being able to make it to Paul Rudd's 50th birthday.
The back-and-forth banter between Evans, Downey Jr., and Rudd is exactly what makes the MCU so special, and it'll undoubtedly be an emotional rollercoaster seeing how it all pans out in
Avengers: Endgame.
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios' grand conclusion to twenty-two films, "Avengers: Endgame."
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.
