To be fair, no writer could ever make those Twilight novels good.

to be fair, no screenwriter could make Twilight good, the surce material was already sh*tty.
I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

People look "Twilight" and automatically throw a hissy, but she's done other acclaimed writing also. So I think bits in good hands

I would trash her credentials, but one thing I learned is some writers are way better at tv shows than they are at movies.

God, she is also the writer of Birds of Prey, the Highlander remake, Step Up and The O.C.

She DID write some episodes of Dexter so maybe she can do the Purple Man segments. But man, this is a painful resume to read.

I'll give her a chance but there is a LOT of suck there.

Like, Step Up? This will be the poorest one in the new onslaught of Marvel shows, I know it. I think it'll be good, but not great. She did write some Dexter though, so she might do okay.

She wrote the first four seasons of Dexter. This series is in good hands.

I couldn't care less who writes for this show as I'm not familiar with Jessica Jones at all. I'll still give it a try because it's Marvel.

Before we trash her for scripting TWILIGHT*, who exactly scripted ALIEN RESURRECTION? Yeah that bum never did anything good afterwards now did he?

I don't know if JJ will work as a series, but you know what I find really interesting?

She would've had this position if JJ had gone to series at ABC 3 years ago. Edgar Wright's been working on his Ant-Man movie for almost a decade now. I find it fascinating how Kevin Feige keeps these people and their projects together in his pocket for years before throwing them out on the table.

*=To be fair to her, she was trying to adapt a crappy book and you can't improve it because you have to faithfully adapt it or else the lunatic fanbase will eat you alive. Not excusing a crappy film, just defending a no-win situation here.

@MARVELPSYCHO79
She also helped make every single female character on the show extremely annoying. Was anyone actually sad when Rita died? I was so happy, I was relieved.

I really hope Jessica Jones is older, like in her 30s.

Seems like a desperate move on Marvels part to catch up to DC on the small screen. AoS fail!

Daredevil is going to kick ass. Please make it mature though

That's not desperation. That's progress. We're talking premium television.

Ray Park for Iron Fist. Don't care how old he is. We need a real martial artist for the role.

I actually am kind of confused at their ardant desire to realize this property before so many other one that are arguably better.

to be fair, Whedon's original script for AR was chopped and screwed afterwards for the end result.

But Ray Park's acting....Nah. I'd rather get a good actor that can train for months in MA than a martial artist who can't act.
