In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Zach Whedon was discussing the chances of a sequel to the two's online musical, Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog, when he let slip the following information that is yet further indication that Joss will indeed be in the directors chair for the mighty Marvel team up movie, The Avengers!
"We are all anxious to work on it, but some of us - and I'm not pointing any fingers here - but some of us have tentatively agreed to helm an all-star mega-blockbuster summer tent-pole extravaganza movie to be released in 2012."
Now, the words
"tentatively agreed" may not point to the
Buffy and
Firefly creator actually being confirmed as having the job but it definitely indicates that he's still in the running as do recent comments from the likes of Chris Hemsworth (Thor) who said he had actually met Joss Whedon to discuss the movie.
The Avengers will assemble in cinemas on May 4, 2012!
