New BATGIRL Set Photos Give Us A Much Better Look At The Villainous Firefly In Full Costume

We caught a glimpse of Firefly in-costume on the set of HBO Max's Batgirl movie last night, but these latest photos give us a much better look at the pyromaniacal villain's supervillain outfit.

As production continues on the upcoming Batgirl feature in Scotland, more photos from the set have been shared online by the ever reliable Batgirl Film News. We got a first glimpse of Firefly (Brendan Fraser) suited-up for action last night, and these latest snaps give us a much better look at the villain in full costume.

The suit appears to be most directly inspired by Firefly's look in the Arkham Asylum video games, but it's obviously more grounded. We can't imagine this version on the character taking to the skies to do battle with Gotham's (other) Caped Crusader, but there does seem to be some comic book influence in the costume's design.

Check out the photos at the link below.

Batgirl will star Leslie Grace as the titular hero, along with Jacob Scipio and Ivory Aquino. J.K. Simmons is also set to reprise the role of Jim Gordon, and we will see the return of Michael Keaton's Batman.

Loki composer Natalie Holt recently announced that she's signed on to work on the movie's score, while Christina Hodson, who wrote Bumblebee and also worked on Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the most recent draft of the script.

The HBO Max movie is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. No release date has been announced, but Batgirl is expected to debut later this year.
