Simu Liu has shown himself to be a quick wit over the years with his social media posts, and the recent shelving of the Leslie Grace led Batgirl film has provided the star with another chance to hit his followers with a zinger.
Taking to Twitter, Liu jests "I'm sorry to inform you guys that Disney has decided to scrap the Shang-Chi Holiday Special due to quality control concerns. I had already filmed the entire thing. I even designed an all-gingerbread Ta Lo. RIP Shang Chi and the Legend of the TEEEN GOLDEN RIIIIINGS"
The MCU star's tweet is just one in a tidalwave of social media discussion on the topic of Batgirl's abrupt cancellation. Directors Adil El Arbi and Billal Fallah revealed that aside from messages of support from Marvel boss Kevin Feige, they've also heard from fellow directors Edgar Wright and James Gunn.
The debate rages on about if shelving the project was the right call, and speculation relating to the future of other DC projects is at a fever pitch as fans and filmmakers alike wonder what will be done with the controversial Flash movie, the currently filming Blue Beetle, and the myriad other projects that have been announced but are not yet in production.
