"Proto Versions" Of Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy, & Maybe Harley Quinn Are Coming To GOTHAM
It sounds like several members of the Suicide Squad could be paying a visit to Gotham sometime in the near future. Plus, Solomon Grundy is coming, and we have an update on The Joker!
At the Television Critics Association summer press tour today, Gotham executive producers Ken Woodruff & John Stephens shed some light on the upcoming third season of the hit superhero prequel drama, revealing that the show will introduce Solomon Grundy at some point during the year. Stephens adds that Grundy's mythology and origin will have ties to both Hugo Strange's Indian Hill experiments and the mysterious Court of Owls.
The conversation shifted gears when the pair were directly asked whether or not any early incarnation of a Batman villain featured in Suicide Squad could make an appearance in TV's Gotham City. Stephens once again fielded the query and admitted it'd likely be difficult, especially with the characters having already made their big-screen debuts, but did share that there is a good possibility they introduce a "proto-version" of Killer Croc and "a forerunner of" Harley Quinn before all is said and done, strongly suggesting it would likely happen in a potential Season 4.
Speaking of a hypothetical fourth season, as viewers begin to make that transition from season three to four in the latter half of the upcoming season, they will start to see early indicators of the Joker's growing influence on Gotham as "the cult of the Joker" continues to expand even after Jerome's demise. Stephens teases: "It’s about developing the myth of The Joker, just like we’re developing the myth of Batman… There are underground movements where they talk about Jerome.”
Well, it sounds like dark days are ahead for Jim Gordon and company. So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!
