New Photos Surface of Tom "Bane" Hardy

Tom Hardy was in Paris today for a photo call, to promote his new movie, Warrior. See how bulked up Mr. Hardy is...

Tom Hardy is certainly packing on the pounds and the muscles to make his version of Bane as intimidating as he possibly can. It's always a pleasure to see an actor fully commit to a role by transforming their bodies.

Tom Hardy shows off his guns as he attends a photo call for his latest movie, Warrior,
at the Bristol Hotel on Monday (June 27) in Paris, France.

"The Dark Knight Rises" is scheduled for July 20, 2012 release across the United States.

As always, I know some people are going to go crazy because he's not as big as comics Bane.
But he's plennnnty big, just reserve judgement until you see how it's filmed. Nolan knows how to shoot.
Tom's looking great, can't wait!

he's a great actor and all and I am sure he's going to be good but I can't see the dude as Bane. But he'll probably rule anyway

He looks big enough to me. They just need to add a little sfx, to add height or more mass, like they did to Harvey Dent's face. I wouldn't want to fight him.

He's still not even that big. Doesn't look like bane at all. I actually think he looks like he's lost some size since warrior.

Bane reinvented {according to rumors} :

Impervious to pain > Sets fire to where ever he goes > Uses breather mask > Bane got the advantage.

Sounds badass to me. Exactly what I want from Bane, strategy, an unstoppable force, pure destruction!

@reclusemaverick that does sound badass. and consistent with the offhand rumors i've read as well. but impervious to pain doesn't mean your body isn't taking damage in a fire. by act three he'll look like Two-Thirds Face.

@BezierCurve

I know right! haha. The other night I slept on the idea of his body scars growing more grotesque as the film progresses. That should sell costume patents for WB, lol. Maybe Bane dies from abusing his physical limits, just as Bruce almost did in TDK.

Ah, I should stop speculating...

Second word- Ledger.

I don't think the point of this Bane is to be "big".

Yes, he needs to be physically imposing, but in a trained by monks type of way.

@Grimlock20

Just imagine some fight scenes where Bane's fire is threatening civilians, Batman will truly be tested, save the people and watch out! A guy who feels no pain is after you.

It looks like the only way he can look close to muscular enough, he needs to use his hands to push up his biceps.

Isn't there a different villan from the many years of Batman comics with similar characteristics to that Nolan could have taken and made his own other than Bane? I have a feeling that if you put a mask on him and take off his shirt this is all we're going to get in the movie, folks. With a touch of psycho-smart attitude mixed in. Bane is a prescence not only mentally but physically. This is going to be hard of Nolan to pull off in the realistic fashion that he chooses to stick to and deliver a Bane that meets any expectations of the comic book reader.

Ninja stealth and fighting skills and gadgets > Wrestling.... Definitely, impossible to argue that

But make that person bigger and stronger, Now its a closer fight....

I just don't like the fact that a character who is on steroids is much smaller than people who i know in person who are not on anything but much stronger.

Last thought while I let you guys duke it out. This is the Scrappy Doo of Bane's. A chicken hawk if you will. If left without CGI enhancement Bane could end up looking like a joke.

@Grimlock-

You said Hardy has been mis-casted as Bane. The same thing was said about Ledger when he was cast as The Joker. Then Ledger's performance was considered one of he best in comicbook movie history. No one gave Ledger a chance the same way your not giving Hardy a chance. So yeah, my words make a little sense.

And yes, Bane in the books is 7 ft tall and rocked up. But can you name one person who is that size that can act? You seem very upset that Bane is not some chizeled, oversized killing machine. This is not your comicbook Bane. This is Nolan's Bane. And say what you want but Nolan seems to know how to make a pretty good movie. So how about you reserve judgment until you see Bane in the context of the movie and not some shot of Hardy at a Hollywood premiere.

Stop complaining about his size! The guy is a human being and there is no way in earth he could look like comic boon Bane because ITS A COMIC BOOK no one in earth looks like the way characters are drawn on comics. He will do a wonderful job as will Anne.

The guy is an awsome actor, as far a size lol anyone who thinks that the aren't going to use some "tricks" to make in bigger is an idiot. Im sure Nolan understands how important "size" is for this character.

"hey, this picture that was taking at a press event doesn't look like Bane" lol... some folks just aint to bright lol
