Only Five UK Cinemas Will Screen THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Prologue

In news sure to disappoint British Batman fans, it appears that the highly anticipated six minute prologue will prove to be very heard to find come December 26th when Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol hits...

What Culture (via Total Film) point out that the six minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises will be screened in only five UK IMAX screens alongside Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Those are Bradford's National Media Museum, Glasgow's Science Centre, London's BFI IMAX, London's Science Museum and Manchester's ODEON IMAX. The reason for this somewhat disappointing turn of events is that Warner Bros. and Chrsitopher Nolan have taken the decision to restrict the preview to 70mm projection IMAX cinemas, widely considered to be the best way to view movies filmed specifically for the format.

The prologue for The Dark Knight back in 2008 was never officially released online, and it's likely that many fans will have to rely on internet bootlegs if they wish to see the footage. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is released in the US on December 16th and a new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will be attached to Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake
Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate
Josh Pence as Ra's Al Ghul

RELEASE DATE: July 20th, 2012

For the people who want a bootleg, hopefully someone will sit far enough back to get the whole 20m by 26m screen in shot lol.

Although, I didnt realise we had digital Imax screens in England.

Oh and ive been banned from commenting on the Imax page of facebook for comments about how they have diluted their brand from films made (and partially made) with the best cameras on earth on the biggest screens. To converting any random blockbuster movie into better sound on the middle bit of the big screen.

Im seeing mission impossible for the true full Imax stuff and the batman prologue.

id rather see the 40min documentary on Mecca than see something like Iron Man or Watchman there, just because its a big screen and louder. even tho most of mission impossible and TDK were like that.

This doesn't disappoint me at all.

First off although i love what Nolan has done for Batman, I am not paying £8 to watch a pre-show 6 min film and then leave. Secondly there has been far too much leaked/released [delete as believed] about TDKR already. I have literally had to stop myself clicking on some of the reports, bios and photos to leave something as an actual surprise for the film itself.

Besides, its going to be on the Blu-ray release anyhow, its not like you are going to miss it.

Birmingham have an imax why is it not there? Not that I am majorly fussed as I am not paying £10 to see a film I'm not bothered about for a prologue that will be all over the place before you know it.

Heh hehe heh...Nice one N...I'll be in the Imax near London, y'know the one...The one in Glasgow in the country of Europe. F*** the popcorn, I think I'll just knock back some tea and scones...I've already booked my seat. I'll be sat next to the queen; you have to sit next to her because if she sits in front of you then you can't see the screen properly because of her crown.
Fishandchips
Fishandchips - 11/30/2011, 8:50 AM
Cassidy75 - make sure you dont get behind her in a comedy, her bobbing up and down with laughter is more annoying than her just being in the way. And if you sit behind her he get scone crumbs down your shirt, best off just avoiding the queen like V.D.

If you sit in front of her you get crumbs*
