RUMOR: 8 Minute TDKR Prologue With Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

RUMOR: 8 Minute TDKR Prologue With Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

/Film report that we could get a look at an extended prologue for The Dark Knight Rises with the Mission Impossible sequel when it hits IMAX screens on December 16th..

I'm sure you remember back in 2007 we got to see the opening sequence of The Dark Knight in IMAX theaters in front of I Am Legend. Well according to /Film we may be in for a similar treat..

A trusted theater (read: exhibitor) source has just exclusively alerted /Film that Warner Bros. plans to attach an eight minute prologue to The Dark Knight Rises to all IMAX prints of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

TDKR and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol are being released by different studios-WB and Paramount-but /Film reckon since WB don't have a big movie opening in IMAX to feature the footage with, they are teaming up with Paramount as Brad Bird is also shooting extensive scenes in IMAX for his action flick. Apparently WB have declined to comment so for now it's just a rumor I'm afraid. Lets hope it turns out to be true. If it is we will have the chance to see the footage in IMAX on December 16th, five days before Mission Impossible's official release on December 21st.

Probably only in US, if it's true. But this is another good reason to see Brad Bird's Mission Impossible. Can't wait to see it even though I won't be able to see TDKR footage.

They did something like this with the whole bank robbery IMAX scene for TDK so I'm sure this is true.

I'm not sure why anyone is doubting this after it already happened with The Dark Knight?

I guess it's a decent way to sucker people into seeing MI3 ... I mean, placing Tom Cruise in a movie (at least to me) is like taking a large dump all over the movie screen ... at least with a TDKR prologue that crap would smell pretty sweet

They did it with Dark Knight too, playing the bank robbery scene at the start of I Am Legend. It's the only reason I saw the latter.

Doubt Paramount would want to help WB in that way. Paramount just got its first movie - Transformers 3- into the billion+ zone...I doubt they want to advertise TDKR to triumph that (even though TDK dd reach the billion+ zone but its right at the edge).

It'd make more sense to be on Sherlock Holmes though? Being a WB (Distributed) film thats out the same day? But whatever, i'll see either.
