RUMOR: Major Character's Return in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Revealed?

Recently, it seems that action-figure information for an upcoming CBM is one of the main reasons of how details about the movie can leak. Major spoilers after the jump, so be cautious and as always, take it with a grain of salt...

Thanks to Bilal Bhatti from the Official TDKR Community for the scoop! He claims to have been sent the Wally UPC's for the upcoming figures from the 6" Movie Master's (Yay!) line by Mattel. As always, take it with a grain of salt, but if this is true then be aware of possible MAJOR spoilers for the movie.

If this is true, then it confirms that Ras al Ghul will INDEED be in the movie and he has a big enough part to be getting an action figure! His source didn't say whether the action figure will be of Josh Pence (who we already know is playing him in flashback form) or Liam Neeson, who we also know will be making a cameo (as he was spotted on set). Watch this space for further news on that matter.

The Dark Knight Rises is released on July 20 2012

I thought we all knew a young Ras would appear in a flashback?

@Irish- S'ok :)
@Corndo+GraphicCity- Bilal is waiting for a response on whether it's Neeson or Pence. The fact is that he's been reported to being Young Ras by some movie sites and there was a casting call sheet (I think) listing him as Ras al Ghul. Because he's getting an action-figure, this confirms that he will have a major role in the movie. There've been rumors that Bane collaborates with Talia and the LoS to destroy Gotham and his army ARE NOT LoS soldiers. If it is Pence then we know he's getting more than just a flashback in the movie. If it's Neeson.... Yeah, you get where I'm going.

Cool... Ras will probably be in the flash back...

@superotherside- The point of this being major news is that Mattel have already placed an order for these toys and hey obviously place importance on Ras. For example, of Gordon gets an action figure (which he probably won't do) then they obviously think of Ras as a more important character in the movie.

Bilal talks BS, when it was filming he took a grainy picture of an extra in the UK and put "Confirmed, Clayface is in the movie, this is clayface" It was just an extra wearing a robe, and when I replied to him saying "nothing is confirmed until WB confirms it" he blocked me from seeing anything he posts and tried to get the admins to remove me from the group. Attention. Seeker.

Of course he'll be back. Nolan is not that dumb. Not just a pretty face. He knows that will be a good twist and he knows that we all know that Miranda Tate will be Talia and so he needs to gives us an unexpected shock after this. He's going to be struggling to keep anything under wraps, but he knows he has to have at least one unexpected card up his sleeve. When Neeson was revealed to be Ra's it was a genuine shock. Although I'd already had the Empire spoiler myself as somebody reviewed it with the words "Neeson is Ra's" to which someone else responded "You mean Neeson is Ducard" to which somebody else responded "You are gonna look real stupid, when this film comes out".

Having said alla that, Deathstroke the friggin' terminator was a toy for The Dark Knight and he wasn't even in that film, in the slighest so this is by no means confirmation.

Also flashback.

karloshuddos@ Really? That's pretty weak, man. What a dick.
But what if he was right? What if Clayface is in this movie and is working for the League of Shadows and it wsa Clayface we saw die in Batman Begins not Ra's? Oh, wait, that would mean he wouldn't be in TDKR. Unless it was all flashback. But it would probably use less domino-steps-of-reality if they just had the lazarus pit, instead of all this clayface nonsense. So, yeah. Not likely.

There's no [frick]ing chance in hell that I'm going to pay for an action figure of Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I think the bigger spoiler here is that GCPD Blake get a figure. He MUST be playing a bigger roll than just a good cop to warrant a toy. I am not jumping on the Robin bandwagon or saying he is the next Batman, but he must have a major roll. Correct me if I am wrong but I didnt see a Fox figure and he has been huge in the other films.

Batraider has a good point. yet Marion Cottilard's character and Gordon are not present among the list either. Of course when THE DARK KNIGHT hit the straight- jacket version of the Scarecrow and the Demonic Batman Hallucination figure debuted.
