I'm sure every Nolanite remembers that Batman Begins was heavily visually influenced by Blade Runner, and subsequently Rutger Hauer from Blade Runner was cast into a villainous role in the movie..

The Dark Knight was influenced by Heat, and William Fichtner was cast into a role that is very similar to his role in Heat

I did first think of this when I heard Matthew Modine, who played as Joker in Full Metal Jacket, was cast into the role of Nixon. But, recently when I saw the shots of Bane and his henchmen in military gear standing with the camouflage Tumbler, the idea really came to life. I may be grasping here, but there is also the scene in the trailer where Bane is approaching Batman. The camera is using an over the shoulder perspective on Bane as he approaches Batman, a perspective that was used heavily in Full Metal Jacket..

The Dark Knight rises at this stage seems to have a militaristic feel to it, and if it is any way influenced by Kubrick's classic film, then I think it is headed in the right direction..

I recently learned of Blade Runner and Heat being Nolan's influence for BB and TDK. So when Nolan said he "cracked" the story for TDKR, I guess that means he saw his favorite Kubrick film. Very curious to see how Bane's army {?} factors in to the "epic conclusion to the Dark Knight legend". Nolan has found the right inspiration for TDKR.

Wasn't Matthew Modines role originally offered to Treat Williams?

very cool discovery. That could very well be the case, and Kubrick is one of Nolan's favorite directors. He always talks about how Kubrick was a major inspiration to him; Kubrick and Scott are Nolan's top two favorite directors.

Blade Runner and Heat where influences for BB and TDK??

Never thought of it that way.

That means that TDKR has that military feel to it, while gotham is plunged into a full scale lockdown(like the denzel washington movie "The Seige".

Yeah, make sense... in TDK we had the attempt to total anarchy inflicted by Joker, now the logic is Gotham go to despotism and military in TDKR... escalation!
