THE TRUE ADVENTURES OF WOLFBOY Star Jaeden Martell Is Open To Playing Batman Sidekick Robin - EXCLUSIVE

The True Adventures of Wolfboy tells the story of Paul, a young man who lives an isolated life with his father in upstate New York. He finds making friends impossible due to a rare condition he has known as congenital hypertrichosis - an affliction that causes an abnormal amount of hair growth all over his face and body. On his 13th birthday, Paul receives a mysterious gift that compels him to run away and seek out the mother he has never known. You can read our spoiler-free review by clicking here.

Directed by Martin Krejcí and written by Olivia Dufault (Legion), the movie stars Chris Messina, Eve Hewson, Michelle Wilson, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sophie Giannamore, Chloë Sevigny, John Turturro, and lead Jaeden Martell. Recently, we had the opportunity to catch up with the IT, Knives Out, and Defending Jacob star to discuss his role as Paul in the touching Indie movie.

We'll bring you the full interview tomorrow, but in the meantime, we thought you'd be interesting in hearing Jaden's thoughts on possibly starring in a future superhero movie. "I don't know," he admitted when we asked if there are any Marvel or DC roles which interest the actor. "I grew up as a bit of a comic book nerd, so I do love comic books. That's a hard question to answer!"

We had to point out that there are a lot of people online who believe he would be a great pick for Robin, and Jaeden responded: "Oh, a good Robin? Okay, I'll take that. That would be fun [Laughs]."

The True Adventures of Wolfboy star would definitely make for a great Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, or Tim Drake, and he could quite easily fit into The Batman franchise or even something like The Flash. Time will tell, but Martell's star is clearly on the rise, and a superhero project is likely on the horizon.

What do you guys think?

@alex4everdn - seriously there are probably 1 or 2 examples at the most of people who campaign for a role actually get the role

Man oh man, I REALLY hope that Reeves is planning on Robin being part of the trilogy he’s been writing. Robin needs redemption and he’s a huge character in the Batman mythos.

@HulkisHorny - I hope. We haven't got a great live-action Robin. The one on Titans is okay and Burt Ward was great for his time.

@MovieMonster - O'Donnell wasn't too bad for his time. Well, in Forever at least. It's tricky to do a really good, faithful Robin. To the masses, it's kind of nuts and irresponsible to have a 12yo fighting crime. I mean, Hitgirl in Kick Ass was entertaining, but that caught a whole lot of flack. Having an older orphan makes sense in the morality department an to skirt those pesky child labor laws. I think that's why no one has tried to crack that nut since.

@HulkisHorny - Pretty sure he has said he wants to use him, there might be hints to him in the first movie

Nothing personal but “what superhero would you like to play” questions are so boring to me.

He is perfect for being the young orphan Dick Grayson.

@Repian - By the time The Batman 2 happens, he could age out of the role, is already 17, seems like 20 should be the oldest they should cast

A good Robin? Damn, straight clowning on Thwaites and O'Donnell.

@inkniron - Not like O'Donnell was that good.

@dracula - He was fine for the time. There are so many thing to take into consideration that it's hard to do a faithful adaptation of any Robin.

If you're a comic book nerd, it's not a hard question to answer, lil dude.

I'd rather live action Robin be more tough looking physically like the arkham games. Skinny short tween Robin might work for the comics or video games, but it'd be hard to take seriously in a movie, especially one that takes it self seriously like most modern Batman.
