BLACK PANTHER Star Michael B. Jordan Is Open To Returning For The Sequel

Michael B. Jordan stole the show as Erik Killmonger in Black Panther and while his character may have died at the end of the Marvel movie, the actor wouldn't say no to reprising the role in the sequel...

At the end of Black Panther, Erik Killmonger was defeated by T'Challa and chose death over bondage when he pulled a spear from his chest and collapsed to the ground. However, while his death appeared to be pretty definitive, rumours have swirled that we'll see the villain return in the sequel. How could that happen? Well, there's a chance he could have been saved or will haunt T'Challa as an illusion!

Time will tell on that front but in a recent interview, Michael B. Jordan confirmed that he would definitely be open to working with director Ryan Coogler again on the Marvel Studios franchise.

"I mean, I'm a fan, as you said, of Marvel, of comic books, everybody knows that," the actor said when asked about his possible Marvel future. "So I mean if there was ever an opportunity for me to come back and like join this universe and work with like Joe Russo, Kevin Feige, Victoria [Alonso], and everyone over there at Marvel, re-team with Ryan [Coogler] you know, of course I would."

Would you like to see Jordan reprise the role of Erik Killmonger in the inevitable Black Panther sequel?

Maybe for the third film in a trilogy! I like it when other rogues are introduced..although Black Panther's Rogue gallery is not that deep.

I could maybe see it as a moment of validation and redemption between him and T'Challa on the ancestral plains or something, just as an epilogue interaction for their characters but honestly I think the idea of him coming back in any serious or major way would really dampen the effectiveness of his role in Black Panther.

Killmonger was by far the most sympathetic of Marvel's villains, not to mention the most smashable.

If they indeed did bury him in the ocean, would he still be in the ancestral plane? I mean, he's only half-Wakandan, and his preferred ancestors were the slaves, which Wakandans definitely were not.

Curious.

He won't be back but I am not surprised he would want to.

Resurrecting him would tarnish arguably the best ending any Marvel villain (character?) has had. He had one of the best arcs in the whole MCU and to bring him back would ruin that.

HOWEVER - if they bring him back via The Ancestral Plane, or have him as a vision haunting T'Challa, or some combination of the two, then that could work really well. But he shouldn't be back as a threat, certainly not a physical one.

@ExpertlyMediocr - I really like that idea. Like, really like it. It'd be a much more nuanced dynamic than we're used to in superhero movies.
