With Black Panther: Wakanda Forever set to hit theaters in just over a week's time, Marvel Studios has released a new featurette focusing on the MCU debut of Tenoch Huerta's Namor, who vows to lead the people of Talaokan in a war against the surface world - which will include Wakanda unless they decide to join his cause.
Fans have been waiting to see The Savage Submariner make the jump to live-action for many years, and director Ryan Coogler explains why he felt this sequel presented the perfect opportunity to introduce the character.
The video also includes some exciting new footage of Namor in action as he clashes with Wakanda's forces, and goes one-on-one with M'Baku (Winston Duke).
Check out the featurette below, and let us know how you've been pronouncing Namor all these years (Nay-mor, or Na-more)?
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livanalli.
Full reviews are embargoed until November 9th, but critics were allowed to share their social media reactions last Thursday (you'll find mine below).
