This year's BAFTA nominations have been revealed, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Angela Bassett once again receiving a "Best Supporting Actress" nod. The Batman, meanwhile, also gets some love.

BAFTA has announced the full list of nominees for this year's British Academy Film Awards, and while superhero movies don't get much love, it's not all bad news.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Angela Bassett has landed yet another "Best Supporting Actress" nod, and based on recent wins, we'd say she's guaranteed to walk away with the award. That's expected to be the case at this year's Oscars as well, and there's no denying both wins would be well-deserved following her moving, incredible performance.

That's it for Marvel Studios, but The Batman stands a chance of awards success after being highlighted in a number of smaller categories. Those include "Best Cinematography," "Best Production Design," "Best Makeup and Hair," and "Best Visual Effects."

It stands a chance in all of those, though Avatar: The Way of Water is probably a lock for the latter!

The Batman should win the production design, and deserves the make up win for Penguin alone.

I need to see All Quiet on the Front, that and the Whale. Then I've seen all the ACTUAL movies. Tar was boring af but the script was really intelligent and I can see why Cate is getting all the recognition, even though Michelle Yeoh deserves it!

@tmp3 - BP2 is also on my catch-up-list. But after watching Avatar I need a longer break from CG heavy movies. Everything looks like a CW show in comparison now.

Sadly, I don't think The Batman takes any.
Cinematography should go to Maverick or Elvis (I don't think it's fair, but they're critics' favorites). The Whale is my bet for make up ( which is sad, because The Penguin is one of the best works that ive seen in a while )

While i thought that the Batman was a solid movie with great actors, music and visuals, the script wasn't as good as it could have been.
It has a good rewatch value, though.
And it doesn't feel as long as it is.
If the next installment has a script that is a little better, it will make $1 billion.
I hope for a few good fights and court of owls eventually.

Let's nominate CBM's so more people might watch, but let's be honest. Not one CBM is probably going to win

We may see 4 different blockbusters (Avatar, Top Gun, Black Panther and Batman) get significant awards attention in the same year, damn.

All I can say about the Batman sequel is:

Give us something NEW!!! No Joker as the main villain.(he can get loose & start mayhem in the background readying for a future movie).

How cool would it be for them to break tradition and lay Man-Bat on us? With a little Creeper thrown in.

I have made it very clear that I think Angela Bassett is fantastic. She was criminally underused in the first movie so I'm glad she got her due.

That being said, you don't even need to have movie title first in this headline. It should just read ANGELA BASSETT Receives BAFTA Nomination for BLACK PANTHER 2.

Angela Bassett is the news on this one.

Awards shows have become the lowest rated shows. All they are nowadays is celebs preaching at the audience.
