Casting has been underway for weeks, with Bloodshot recruiting the likes of Michael Sheen and Eiza Gonzalez in supporting roles. The latest news indicates that Sony has once again found another acclaimed performer to round out their talented ensemble.
In their latest exclusive, The Wrap reports that Toby Kebbell, known for his motion capture roles in Warcraft and the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy, has been recruited to fill the antagonist role of Axe.
Kebbell has always been a highlight in the films that he has taken part in, no matter the quality of the final product, with the most infamous example being his turn as Doctor Doom in 2015's Fantastic Four.
With the talent that Sony is recruiting for the superhero adaptation, one could speculate that the studio has a lot riding on the film. With Dave Wilson, a partner of Deadpool director Tim Miller, taking on the helm, expect to hear a lot more on the project when the film starts principal photography in the summer.
