Some bad news today coming from the ever reliable RealIronMan. According to him we will not recieve a new 'Captain America: The First Avenger' trailer this coming Friday, Feb 18, 2011. Here is the tweet he posted earlier today.

So there you have it folks. Seems like we will have to wait a little bit longer to see a new trailer. Regardless Captain America: The First Avenger drops into theaters July 22, 2011.

Now of course had this been First Class reporting their trailer having to be pushed back, I'm sure the consensus here would be that it's because the movie is in shambles. CA makes that announcement and it's because they're being perfectionists.

I'm content with the teaser. I didn't even know there was supposed to be a trailer this week, lol.

Isn't there supposed to be a Thor trailer tomorrow and not a Cap trailer? I figured that because we'll be getting new Thor footage tonight that a trailer would pop up the next day. Kind of like what we saw with Green Lantern.

I wasn't aware of this... news of a full trailer in the works. Ah, well. If they can make it as good as TDK, Spidey3 and even Watchmen's trailer, I'll be sold.

BALLS! I didn't even know that this trailer was coming out, and I am pissed that I both didn't hear it sooner and not getting it at all!

Guess I might as well continue playing the waiting game.

Still no trailer, eh? What's the hold up? Johnson having confidence issues? Is he being a little hesitant to let us see more of what he finally came up with? Thought so. Got a bad feeling about "Capateer". I think some people are going to be un-pleasantly surprised when this one comes out.

I am happy with the amount of information we have gotten so far. I didn't even know that a trailer was going to be released Friday so I am definitely not disappointed. I mean we already got four new game screenshots and interview with Chris Evans this week. I hope that Joe Johnston gets to spend the extra time putting the movie together. I mean, a little over a year from start of filming to release is asking quite a bit from any director.

@CaNick Did it? What are u basing that off of? It definitely wasn't the most popular Superbowl commercial...I don't think it even made top 5. As far as movie spots, well that's not saying much. It's not like the commercials all consisted of movie spots so there wasn't any real competition anyway. I'd say the reaction was kinda underwhelming, especially if you compare it to...oh shit...the reaction that FIRST CLASS GOT ON THIS SITE. That's pretty bad when you take into account the amount of anticipation for Cap compared to how badly everyone (including myself) was expecting to RIP on First Class. I'm not sure how well the Cap spot was received by the general movie going audience. I personally feel that what they saw was a Cap who looks radically different than the one they were used to. You can get away with that with a group film like Xmen because the general public might not be as familiar with each individual member as they are a comic book icon like Captain America. If they are anything like myself, they saw that puffed out silly looking para trooper suit and said "what the hell is this?". I could almost hear the sound of everyone's anticipation deflating rather anti-climactically after they saw the TV spot, much like the sound of someone letting the air out of an air mattress.

It says something that you don't see a flood of Cap fans banging their chests triumphantly over how awesome the brief TV spot was. If anything, there's a definite air of concern that we might have already seen the best this film has to offer.

Oh wait...that's right...we haven't seen the "Cosmic Cube" yet. lol. Better be good. So far this looks like the K-mart version of GI Joe.

@inturder- your definitely right about warner being nervous with GL lol but with this being the second cancellation for a trailer(or footage) it just made me think that they might be a little nervous as the superbowl spot has gotten both positive and negative responses. dont get me the wrong way i have high hopes for this and hope that i am totally wrong about it.
