Marvel Security On CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Production Is At Defcon 1

Already having script images leaked while filming in D.C. for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel's security team is battling local Cleveland media and is at the highest threat level possible for a movie production.

It's not easy working security for Marvel Studios on the production of Captain America: The Winter Soldier while they are on location in Cleveland.

Being in such a public location, with windows and buildings (both public and private) at every angle, Marvel security has its hands full. Especially after someone at their Washington D.C. leg of their production last week ran across the sides of a specific day of filming and took photos of them and posted them online. Sides are a daily print out of script pages for what will be in scenes for that day's shoots.

Now in Cleveland, Marvel faces the problem of local and online media outlets trying to take the perfect photos of that action on the set . Obviously this is a problem for all films that are in a metropolitan area and not in a closed off sound stage, interior location or warehouse.

After the sides leaked in D.C., a Marvel security source on location in Cleveland has told me that they are on the “highest threat level there is and Marvel's security is actively telling everyone on location, who receives any piece[s] of paperwork each day—or finds any laying around—to hand them back in for destruction every day.” (Paraphrased.)

Marvel's security has also been proactive in randomly inspecting buildings surrounding the Cleveland location to prevent local and online media from taking photos of the set. I can tell you this first-hand as I have met one of their top heads of security here in Cleveland.

The media has their own job/assignment to do and as long as they are not breaking any laws, they will do everything in their power to find a location and window to photograph from. However, it doesn't take a lot of common sense to see the angles that photos are being taken from after pictures are uploaded to the Internet.

Out of respect for Marvel Studios, ComicBookMovie.com (and its founders) and my own journalistic integrity, my personal interaction with Marvel security was that of having a mutual understanding of the movie making process. I complied to Marvel's request to not take photos from a photo spot I was rightfully able to acquire (at that specific time) for approximately 10-15 minutes before being found by them. I'm not here to make enemies with a studio I have the utmost respect for... I cannot say that enough.

In the end, all the media wants is to grab some photos of explosions, car crashes, hand-to-hand fight scenes and definitely actors or doubles in full costume. Captain America is going to be sporting a new look, along with Arnim Zola, plus others like Robert Redford in cosutme are a highly sought after photos. And don't forget the biggest mystery on Captain America 2 is that of the Winter Soldier. I am definitely working on trying to land photos of these characters for CBM and its reader, by the way. So please be patient because it's all about being in the right place at the right time.

Until those characters are captured in photos, Marvel security has their work cut out for them and are on the lookout for media who are in places they are not supposed to be in. You've been warned.

I just want full photos of Cap, BW, Winter Soldier and Crossbones in their uniforms. Once I see that I'm happy and I will not want to see any other set photos because I don't want to be spoiled for this movie like I was for IM3.

By being so secretive, Marvel is actually creating a market for these photos. They would be better served to just release a bunch of studio photos of these characters and kill the market.

Does this mean there is a big reveal or character they are hiding from us? Hopefully it's not another bullshit plot twist.. I can't go through that again. Not with Captain America

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is going to be better than, The First Avenger. Which is a great thing cause The First Avenger is by far the best solo movie in Phase One and the best solo movie they've released yet.

Now, show me Crossbones and a on set look at, The Winter Soldier and we'll be all good.

@Godzillafart: Yes, I feel it was better than Iron Man. I don't believe the MCU has a bad movie by any means so far, Iron Man is the third best MCU movie in my opinion behind Cap and Avengers. Cap is better but not by much though.

I think trying to exert that kind of control is a waste of time. But I also see their side of it. When photos get leaked that aren't necessarily the best picture of a thing (like Cap's Avengers costume) the internet explodes with stupid comments and criticisms. They want to avoid as much negative buzz as possible. And let's all be honest, who hasn't seen a leaked set photo on a web site like this one and then seen pages and pages of idiotic comments like "[Frick] you Marvel. You guys are screwing this up" - all from one stupid picture taken on someone's I-Phone?

Crossbones - I agree, the third act of CA:TFA is the most action packed 3rd act of any of the solo movies which carries it over IM1 IMO.

capcyclopsftw: The reason I think, The First Avenger is the best is it has the best and most believable acting in the MCU (I think all of them do but, this one really nails it), most heart, best chemistry and best romance.

earzmundo: You're boring. My left nut is more entertaining than you.
