UPDATE: New CAPTAIN AMERICA THE WINTER SOLDIER Extended Look Coming To Theaters

It's been a week since Marvel debuted the first visuals from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. While the 2:30 minute teaser trailer is expected to run theatrically with Thor: The Dark World, which starts rolling out internationally today, it seems Marvel/Disney also have an extended look at next summer's “Political thriller” ready for the big-screen. According to Alberta Film Ratings, an “extended look featurette” for Captain America: The Winter Soldier has been rated PG and runs at five minutes and four secs. Considering there has been no indication of this extended look prior to its classification, or no one has mentioned it, the featurette will likely screen in U.S. theaters in front of preview trailers and the feature movie, if not just Thor: The Dark World. What do you think?

From my own experience, if you head into a Regal Cinemas theater about 30 minutes to an hour before your movie begins, a behind-the-scenes look at upcoming movies, TV shows and big-budget commercials are screened. This is when I believe The Winter Soldier featurette will be shown.

UPDATE: Fandango confirms that the sneak peek at Captain America: The Winter Soldier will indeed be shown in theaters in select U.S. screenings of Thor: The Dark World, but only in 3D. “After Marvel’s The Avengers, the Marvel films are more interwoven than ever, and this pairing is the perfect complement to both of the new movies,” offers Dave Hollis, executive vice president, theatrical distribution, at The Walt Disney Studios. “Thor: The Dark World is going to be an exceptional theatergoing experience, and this sneak peek will really rev fans up for the return of not only the Mighty Avenger but the First Avenger as well.” Now, what do you think?

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

billnye69 - 10/30/2013, 10:08 AM
This looks way better then X-men. X-men looked like garbage, so tired of Wolverine taking over all the X-men films and nobody else gets any focus. That's why first class was so good, because Wolverine wasn't in it but for more then 5 secs.

SageMode - 10/30/2013, 10:10 AM
^coincidence?

Bryan Singer tweet after the A:AOU announcement...
"Before he was an Avenger........" coincidence or spite? I'd say the latter!
antman8o8
antman8o8 - 10/30/2013, 10:11 AM
that's some BS right there..especially since I already got my 2D tickets for Friday. ugh is 3D even necessary for a movie like this anymore? Avatar, Gravity maybe the Hobbit sure but Captain America?!

grrr guess it's just boring old trailer we just saw in front of Thor for me.
ParisSun
ParisSun - 10/30/2013, 10:21 AM
It's going to only be shown at Thor:TDW 3D viewings. What a scam. I don't support 3D because it's just a scam by Hollywood. Avatar was the first and last movie to use 3D properly. Most movies don't need 3D and is just an excuse to rip off the public.

TheWolverine08 - 10/30/2013, 10:23 AM
Yeah, I don't waste any money on 3D. Never will.

I like the redesign of caps first avenger costume. It seems to be more snug than before kinda like the costume he had in Avengers.
