That is my issue with TDK. It doesn't hold up so well after the first time.

I dunno if this film is better though.

Some scenes in TDK hold up very well...Magic Trick scene...the Kidnapping in Hongkong..and the car chase...the rest...as awesome as it was the first time not so much...

Which is funny, because i liked MoS more after re-watching(twice)

Marvel's "TDK"

REPOST: so the majority of this films notoriety is gonna be based around one actor's performance?

It's tied wih TDK for greatest CBM. They are two different beast and one is better than the other. TDK is a better film in terms of acting and ferociousness as well as Being more cerebral and visceral I. Abuja. Sense. cap 2 has better action, spectacle, scale and it's political thriller. It's more of true superhero film with a dash of political conspiracy while TDK is more of a crime thriller

TDK Is more human and visceral. It's a cerebral masterpiece with fantastic acting. CAP 2 is a masterpiece in terms of action and spectacle and it's more than just a superhero film it's political thriller. It learned from TDK. TDK made people realize that superhero films can be more than a CBM.. TDK was a crime thriller as well. TDK did it first and Cap built upon it. They're are tied as best CBM. Reviews are atill coming in. If Cap is praised by critics and not just the public and CBM fans like TDK was then it'll be tied with TDK

For everyone saying TDK is better (not true) think about this, would that movie be great if it wasn't for Heath Ledger?

...Don't worry I'll wait.

@Indeedrevelation ye it would. Heath made it spectacular but the film itself was still a masterpiece technical wise...cinematography, acting, scale, story, dialogue, symbolism, ...it's one of the best crime thrillers ever. Heath did add a lot to it but it would've still been the best CBM without him. Cap 2 is the only film that an stand next to it

TDK was treated more as a crime thriller than a superhero movie with a crime thriller theme to it.

And from what I hear about CA TWS, it explores an equal balance in thematics as far as being a political thriller while still embracing its comic book roots as a superhero/comic book movie first and foremost.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 4/2/2014, 10:11 AM
@SageMode you're correct. That what I'm tryna say. They are two films that are not only superhero films but also something else in the film genre and that's what makes them both the best CBMs were. They're the only CBMs to mesh superhero genre with another genre that's more visceral and complex and unexpected from a CBM...the crime thriller and political conspiracy.
bropous
bropous - 4/2/2014, 10:13 AM
Ineedrevelation: Of course not.

Ledger was the only bright spot in the entire movie, and even then, even he could not save a lame-assed third act.

Maggie Gyllenhall was as ugly as a blue-assed baboon walking backwards.

And to clal Dork Knight "cerebral" is to make a cat laugh.

You goddamned delusional Nolanite zombies, I tell ya...

Cant wait should be awesome cap will be kicking butt and for all the tdk fans avengers hands down is the best cbm the action alone.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 4/2/2014, 10:17 AM
@bropous I'm not some hardcore Nolannite but you have to appreciate TDKs masterful take on the superhero genre. Cap 2 wouldn't be able to make itself more than just a superhero film without TDK. I love Cap 2 and it's tied with RSK for the greatest CBM ever. It is continuously re-watchable unlike TDK I'll give you that.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 4/2/2014, 10:18 AM
Both films are just too different but they both mix genre better than any other CBM AND THAT MAKES TEN TIED FOR THE BEST.
