CAPTAIN AMERICA: TWS: Anthony Mackie Wished His Falcon Costume Was As "Cheesy As Possible"

In the following video interview with IGN, the Pain And Gain actor reveals that he was hoping for a more traditional looking, comic-faithful costume when he suited up as The Falcon in Captain America: TWS. He also hints that we won't be seeing the character's pet falcon Redwing in the film.

Mackie is most likely joking around a little, but when asked about the recently released concept art for his character he says "I'm very disappointed! When you sign on to a superhero movie you want to be a superhero. You want spandex..you want that." He continues. "When I went into it I was like 'I want the wings, I want the bird (referring to Redwing), I want all this shit. Cos you want little kids to dress up like you". The interviewer points out that a comic faithful costume could have gone very wrong. "And I wanted it to go all the way wrong", Mackie replies with a luagh. "As cheesy as possible"
