Photonic Energy Shield Reference In Iron Man 2 DVD

Photonic Energy Shield Reference In Iron Man 2 DVD

The mysterious shield that appears in the Iron Man movies is in fact an early prototype of Captain America's photonic energy shield. Also Wolverine/X-Men reference?!

In the comics, when Steve Rogers was unable to use his regular shield, Sharon Carter provided him with a photonic energy shield that was designed to mimic a vibranium matrix.

So I was having a little look through the blu-ray extras for Iron Man 2, mainly the S.H.I.E.L.D. Data Vault, and i decided to take a closer look at those "blueprints" of the Stark shield.

And these little bits of information popped out at me.

Call S.C. about photonic energy shield

(a) note on placement of star. not to exceed blue

1. Electromagnetic conductivity
2. Pulsery sensors
3. Palladium
4. Find options for outer-rimm
5. Strengthen x-74 (see enclosed)

???s master conductivity

Note: Adamantium alloy to much 'bounce' possible flexible matrix for containment

Secondary movement

Honeycomb pattern

S.C. looks to be Sharon Carter, the use of palladium makes me think this shield is powered by the same technology Stark created for the original miniaturized Arc reactors and the mention of a need for another material for the containment matrix is a reference for Vibranium... but I guess the biggest shocker is the use of the word Adamantium (go Marvel for getting one past Fox!)

Lets hope the S.H.I.E.L.D. Vault updates itself after the release of Thor and Captain America on blu-ray.

Comments and thoughts below like usual... and yes i know I'm a little late in the game with this information but i thought I would put it down officially for anyone that missed it.

Also I have a big surprise for all you MCU lovers out there that i will be releasing shortly and i will need YOUR help with it!

Hey Paulley you know I am a MCU buff.

Let me know what you wanna do.

I've just managed to incorporate the MCU digital comics into my timeline (well, those that can).

Next thing to do is to source things up (give everything a reference) and try to include a solid timeline for CA:TFA.
