@bobbumman It's canon and it helps fill the gaps that were overlooked in the prequel trilogy. The buildup towards Han and Leia's relationship is expanded upon and it also shows Han's acceptance of the existence of the force. Which makes sense because if we go only by the movies, the first time he sees it is in Empire and he doesn't even react to it at all.
