In less that a month every single issue of the New 52 has sold out requiring a second print, and in the case of Justice League a fourth. Whether you have enjoyed the actual comics or not there is no denying the decision to revamp continuity with the DCnU was a big success.

Here is the report in full from The Source..

It’s official! All 52 first issues of DC Entertainment’s historic publishing initiative DC COMICS – THE NEW 52 have sold out from Diamond Comic Distributors in advance of publication. And all 52 issues will receive second printings.

Here’s a further look inside the numbers for DC COMICS-THE NEW 52:
· ACTION and BATGIRL already have third printings and JUSTICE LEAGUE, the bestselling comic book to date for all of 2011, is in its fourth printing.
· AQUAMAN #1 is the eleventh title in DC Comics-The New 52 with sales of more than 100,000. The series joins the sales ranks of the previously announced titles ACTION COMICS, BATGIRL, BATMAN, BATMAN AND ROBIN, BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT, DETECTIVE COMICS, THE FLASH, GREEN LANTERN, JUSTICE LEAGUE and SUPERMAN.
· BATMAN # 1 joins JUSTICE LEAGUE # 1 and ACTION COMICS # 1 as the third title with sales exceeding 200,000 copies.

“We at DC Entertainment thank our creators, our retail partners, and our readers, and remind them all we’re just getting started,” said John Rood, DC Entertainment Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. “We’re thrilled to be making history, but we’re not standing around congratulating each other. We’re working behind the scenes to leverage our recent success into our long term vision for this company and its iconic characters and brands.”

“There’s never been anything like DC COMICS – THE NEW 52, as seen by our unprecedented sales and overwhelming fan enthusiasm,” said DC Entertainment Co-Publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio. “All 52 first issues have now sold out in advance of publication and each one of the first issues has received a second printing. Backed by DC Entertainment’s massive marketing campaign, dozens of retailer events, and hundreds of headlines from around the globe, this is a watershed moment for the comic book industry. It’s the most significant publishing event in the last 25 years of this company’s long and storied history.”

Tomorrow marks the fourth and final week of #1 issues of the New 52 with some heavy hitter like Aquaman (check out a preview in the article below), The Flash and Teen Titans as well as the more obscure but highly anticipated titles like Justice League Dark. Be sure to get to the comic store early and nab your copies.

thats pretty cool. but unfortunately, quantity does not equal quality. and most of the new titles are definitely lacking in quality.

Ive enjoyed the new 52 overall so this is good news. But the media hype around this has people who never buy comics buying these just because they are number 1's.
The real test will be issue 2 of each of these. Hopefully the new buyers stick around.

Quantity does not equal quality but there is no denying that it was a great idea from a business standpoint. It has also got more people reading comics which is always a good thing AND the work has been awesome for the most part but that's just my opinion.

I fear that intelligent life from another planet may visit us and see Rob Leifeld and deem us unworthy to live and blow our planet up! IT could happen.

@RorMachine we will see how this plays out over time. the initial sales are good, but can DC hold those numbers? if they can, then we will see if it was indeed a great idea or not.

I hope that Mileena was able to get a copy of "Wonder Woman" and "Catwoman". I was lucky to get GL and RL.

@JM4Superman
Justice Leauge # 1 are you serious, they didn't even accomplish anything in that issue. Action has some of the worst art i had ever seen.

@marvel72 It hasn't happened to either company at this
scale in along time.I don't believe it'll stay this
high for long(print is dying fast)but its nice to see
one last hurrah before digital takes over.

You guys do realize that the success of a DC idea does not mean bad things for Marvel. In fact, most of the people actually writing the books at Marvel are probably happy that it's going well. They are fans of comics. You guys sound like you're rooting against a comic distributor, and frankly that just dumb. The only people that agree with you are the accountants and suits at Marvel.
It is just silly how far some of you will take your love for Marvel to mean a Hate dor DC. You all realize most of the writers and artists jump back and forth between the 2 companies. You do realize that a lot of them wouldn't mind being able to not have to deal with the stupidity of fanboys screaming about 30 years of continuity from writers that they don't all agree with. It opens up new stories, and that's good for comics. As a fan of all these characters I am stoked that this is doing well and hope it continues. Long live DC AND MARVEL!!

Hmmm ... granted I've been selective in my choices, but literally every one of my 10 pulls from new 52 has been great, and I usually only read Vertigo Imprints (clearly the best comics IMO)
