Eh, I'm glad this event is over. It was getting a bit tiresome. I did like the concept of humans turning into giant spiders, but the Queen was getting a bit dull and I just couldn't stand Spidey's portrayal in the event. Usually an epilogue of anything is the calm aftermath, a preview of what's to come. This issue is no different, but it's still a good one. (Skip to the last paragraph if you've yet to read it, major spoilers ahead.)

The citizens of New York are cured from the virus outbreka, and does Carlie know......the truth?!

This was a very important issue, a lot of interesting twists. Regarding Carlie's breakup, I knew it was going to happen, just not this soon. They never made sense together, and I think Slott realized it, so it's finished. (I called it.) Kaine has been one of the more interesting characters of this series, now that's it's practically confirmed that he will be the Scarlet Spider, I'm really looking forward to that series.

THE JACKAL IS BACK! I love how they could still surprise us with these things, I never thought for a moment that he would come back. This guy was one of my favorite parts of Spider-Island, so I'm glad to see him back and making a plan for a future arc. It appears that Mary Jane will be appearing more as a main character, will she get back with Peter? It sure looks that way.

My major beef with the issue was two things: Peter Parker and the whole Doctor Strange scene. Oh man, I couldn't stand Peter in this issue. When Carlie confronted him saying she knows he's Spider-Man, he attempts to HIDE it! Are you kidding me? This whole issue he was acting like an immature rookie, and this is coming from a huge fan. I really didn't like the whole Doctor Strange scene, this spell still seems fishy.

Thank goodness the cartoony art is over, that was killing Spider-Island. The eyes on Spidey's mask look way too short though. The cover has a dramatic effect, it works, but I'm hoping for more epic covers in the future, the past couple of ones have been a bit dull.

Overall, this was definitely an important issue, and a good one. I'm very intrigued by the upcoming new arcs, but how could they get rid of Anti-Venom?! He was one of my favorite characters in this series, it isn't right. I guess I saw it coming.....they really didn't know what do with him. Besides that, I hope Spidey goes back to being Spidey, I'm getting seriously tired of this portrayal.

7.5/10.

I was surprised they did finish off the Peter and Carlie relationship, her character seemed perfect but her profession was the downside in my opinion. If Carlie was a sweet innocent starbucks clerk or anyone else with a normal job she might have taken the news of him being Spider-man. I still doubt they will return MJ and Peter, Slott seems to be keeping them a part but with hints of love for one another, mutually of course.

The moments with Dr. Strange was pretty weird, the spell had a loophole in it? Come on, spells are a lot complicated than that, He didn't say to anyone else but Carlie but was after the events, even that brief mention that he had powers too shouldn't count.

It does seem that Jameson has finally finished hating Spider-man but lets not hold our breath until the next issue to see what he does

This was indeed a very important issue, it's a huge step in Peters life
